Ulster defeated 32 - 7 at the Liberty Stadium.
Ulster started the match tremendously with a sustained period of pressure in the Ospreys ’22 only to fail to come away with any points. The Ospreys wasted no time in seizing the initiative with Hook scoring a penalty. Ulster were then reduced to 14 men as Tom Court was sin binned for the second successive week for not rolling away at a ruck after the referee had made it clear he would not tolerate Ulster slowing the ball up. Hook then finished of a well worked Ospreys move exploiting some poor forward tackling, he also succeeded with the conversion.
The Ospreys followed this up with another excellent try this time by Nikki Walker who danced through Harrison and Caldwell then ran 40metres to score despite a valiant attempt to prevent him getting the touch down by Cunningham. Ulster replied just before half time with Dawson finishing a move that saw Bowe cutting through the midfield only to be caught short. Sadly it was to be the only high point for the rest of the night.
Ulster started the second half quite well only for Shane Williams to continue his excellent Six nations form by scoring a try with Hook adding the extras. Williams scored again three minutes later with fortune favouring the diminutive winger who showed some excellent footballing skills to cross the whitewash. A final floury by Ulster proved fruitless as the Ospreys took a well deserved 32-7 win leaving Williams and the boys with a bit of work to do before the do or die game against Connacht in two weeks.
