Nothing patronising about it - the deciding scores were ultimately down to poor decisions, handling skills etc of the players.

If you want to find reasons for the result (win or lose) in any match, you could find it with any one of the players on both sides. Not sure how but i'm sure someone will hang this one on Paddy.
