Re: Any word on the Academy?

Boomer, Ross, Lagan, Thompson and Lyttle all in the squads for tomorrow night, all former MCB players ( and all schools cup winners bar Robert Lyttle who seems set for a big future ). :D

Re: Schools Cup 2016

Fair play Chuckle, looks like the Aussie prop O'Toole had a decent game as well as RBAI's Hume . The U19s have young Marcus Rea in the squad and I do rate this lad. In retrospect my comments were unfair mate as on watching the game back there was some good performances and with a bit more composure ...

Re: Schools Cup 2016

Seriously Russ? Who do you think is Academy potential out of the teams that played on St Paddys day? Rose tinted glasses mate unfortunately.

Re: Schools Cup 2016

:D Good point actually... The game itself failed to live up to the occasion in my humble opinion....two well drilled outfits but there was a worrying lack of flair/ X Factor... Two big packs cancelling each other out and RBAI did their homework on CCBs line out which negated their threat somewhat. I...

Re: Schools Cup 2016

Not a classic.... As commented on previously it appeared to be two sets of oversized youngsters battering into each other and trying to outmuscle each other and in doing so cancelling each other out. Poor handling from both sets of backs and a lack of plan 'B' from both teams.Congratulations to RBAI...

Re: Schools Cup 2016

Chuckle I am with you on this 100% mate! I love the passion/ banter/ rivalry and craic on this thread!! I picked my son up from outside Methodist college this morning which he attended and won two schools cups with and he was standing there proud as punch in an RBAI rugby Hoodie. Better than that he...

Re: Schools Cup 2016

Good luck to both sets of players for tomorrow's Schools Cup final. Two great sides should make for a good game. :D

Re: Ticking Time Bomb?

Great article Tighty... Thank you. It echoes my concerns for schools rugby in Ulster.

Re: Film Review Section *** NEWish ***

The Revenant was superb. Had a day off on Friday and watched the directors cut of Once Upon a Time in America..... Peerless...Brutal and very moving with a haunting soundtrack and the double whammy of De Niro and Woods sharing the same screen.

Re: Ulster v Zebre Fri 4th Mar 7:35pm BBCNI

It's probably unfair to scrutinise a youngster like Stockdale when it's obvious he has great potential but i just think Scholes has more raw talent & speed and we are letting him go?

Re: Ulster v Zebre Fri 4th Mar 7:35pm BBCNI

I watched Stockdale at senior school level and he was excellent but I just don't think he is ready at 19 for the starting birth week in week out. He is undoubtedly a great raw talent and by God when he fills out we have another McCloskey size wise but at this moment of time I don't see explosive pow...

Re: Ulster v Zebre Fri 4th Mar 7:35pm BBCNI

Sitting watching the Hurricanes playing the Highlanders as I type makes me realise just how sub standard the Rabo Pro 12 is by comparison. I was at the game last night and the second half performance was wholly unacceptable. No pace, urgency or composure and it's amazing that it took Paul Marshall t...

Well said.... Sickening attack on a hard working innocent man doing a difficult/ thankless job. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time.
