Re: Brexit - now we see what it means.

Will Boris be invited back to the DUP conference?

I guess he won't be building a bridge over the North Channel either.

Re: Japan RWC

Greetings from Tokyo.
The weather is cooler and showery. May suit Ireland a bit.We have nothing to lose and I expect a mighty effort from a full strength team. Unlike four years ago.

Re: Japan RWC

Neil Francis is calling for the Ireland team to pack their bags and come home now. Apart from his trademark silliness, if you could take it seriously, can you imagine the chaos of abandoning games and contractual commitments? Even more weird, if Scotland beat Japan next week and we would have ...

Re: Japan RWC

Eddie O'Sullivan being very critical of the Ireland team on RTE and how they didn't win with panache and good tries etc.
Couldn't resist thinking of Eddie's Ireland just about beating Georgia 14 10 in 2007.

Re: Japan RWC

In the 70th minute, Murray is penalised for off side and Japan get 3 points. Murray is nowhere near off side and not interfering with play when the Japanese player is tackled. I have to say I didn't spot this or the earlier one at the time maybe due to the pace of the action. Ireland still didn't de...

Re: Japan RWC

BM,
if you look at the penalty in the 37th minute, JVDF was inexplicably penalised by Gardner for not rolling away when he was being held on the ground by the Japanese. That cost us 3.

Re: Japan RWC

World Rugby has confirmed that three of the four offside penalties given against Ireland to Japan were incorrect.
it wasn't all Gardiner's fault as Garces made two of them as a touch judge.

Re: Japan RWC

for 80 minutes?
We led until the 58th minute.

Of course we were not good but they were really excellent in humid conditions with a home crowd behind them.
Last week you were in ecstasy over the win against Scotland. Today you are in despair.
The truth is in the middle.

Re: Japan RWC

I don't agree that Ireland were terrible/awful. Yes they did make stupid errors in the second half like the Stander/Farrell accidental offside that led to the Japanese try. Japan were brilliant and played out of their skins. We must give them some credit. The fact is though that Japan have been here...

Re: Japan RWC

Today was reminiscent of 2018. Ireland were mean and ruthless to the Scots. All 23 contributed.
Question: does Rory Best get paid extra to play 80 minutes? Or does he just get next Saturday off?

Re: Japan RWC

Disagree about the bench. I think it's way stronger than 2015 with the injured players to come back as well. I agree with your analysis of the group and how it should play out. We beat Scotland comfortably in Murrayfield in February. Hard to see a different result. Joe will play a completely fresh t...

Conway and Larmour for Earls and Kearney.
They say Kearney has a tight calf. Not clear where the calf is.

Re: RWC warm up matches

Kleyn made a big statement in the way he played at Twickenham. He clearly played the non playing Toner off the pitch.....and if you believe that.... To be serious, I have observed here before that Joe is a ruthless barsteward who makes very tough decisions when he needs to. i am sorry for Toner but ...
