Trimble's contract for this season included automatic progression to full contract for next season. As you say - the IRFU involvement will have complicated things a bit.

I don't think it's a bad thing that there was a vote on the money but in my opinion the committee didn't need one. The constitution clearly states that the management of the club is vested in the committee - in my opinion that gives the committee the power to dispose of assets/funds as they see fit ...

Thats a great point BR. Rainsing concerns in the name of good governance is all very well but when the committee is so preoccupied with fight fires and dealing with issues 2 things happen: 1. The committee don't have time to do much else as they spend meetings and spare time in between on other busi...

Free Setanta!

I subscribe to the North American Sports Network on Sky for £11 a month. Got a letter yesterday to tell me that they're merging with Setanta and I now get all 5 Setanta Chennels plus NASN for just £10 a month. That's pretty darn good by my book. Just thought I'd let you know in case the addition o...

Me too. Surely the ref is the final judge of whether or not the pitch is fit. 1. He said it was. 2. Leeds refused to play 3. Calvisano play 2nd XV match on pitch - proving it was fit? 4. Calvisano are penalised for not providing a fit surface - all points to leeds?! Doesn' make sense at first glance...

A-maze-ing rumour and other tired puns

It has been said (by a non rugby source I might add) that the IRFU are about to throw their weight behind the Ormeau Park venture.

Fairly reliable source but who knows?!
