Re: Where will you buy your "Cartoon Shirt"?
I remember when the "stores " were in Wellington Place I think it got the worse of a little shopllifting Shoplifting you say ? Lifted about 10 feet in the air Old joke but then it was about as long ago as that? But their major dept at that time was golf the other depts were seasonal come A...

Re: If you were coach for a day...
Why show key moments . Show them how scoring opportunties are lost-- show them how possession is lost. Get the backs to practice running straight lines instead of diagonally across the pitch very few backs can actually run round their opposite number or the player marking him unless he is a front ro...

Re: Training squad
Most backs coming into a squad for the first time play wing because being backs they usually have sufficent pace to play on the wing but frequently lack the physical maturity to play midfield were they would be targeted by the opposition. Trimble was the exception to this rule because he did have th...

Re: Training squad
Shan Fitz is a player who has won not because he is Fitz but because he has been a member of a good team and those wins had as much to do or more with the other 14 players as Fitz. He is a genius who suffers from Head Farts always has done that higher price for those moments madness has not been pai...

Re: Training squad
Having watched Fitz at centre I'm not as convinced of his defensive qualtities as some .He benefits defensively from playing with the D'Arcy/BoD combination inside him both at League and International level . leinster have play a drift defence for years and provided the backrow follow across behind ...

Re: Training squad
Shan even on his best day Fitz is a liability and I will be surprised if he is still a 1st choice winger for Leinster in 2 years time although he his connections at Leinster could influence that prediction. International full backs are seldom attacking options ie running into the line ( unless the t...

Re: Training squad
Neil maybe I made a mistake but you did write Kearney(Jones) Bowe Fitz (Trimble Earls) which made me believe Fitz would be your first choice not third he would definitely not be my first Boss would not be my first choice at scrum half but he as I have stated he does provide a Plan B which as you so ...

Re: Training squad
"Siege Mentality" red hand- hardly the correct term Never in my post did I say Cave was a 12 -- Spence is because he has two attributes P Wallace doesn't the ability to break a tackle and to go into contact without spilling the ball which is Paddy's greatest failure because you at best you...

Re: If you were coach for a day...
Mike bar tackling and defensive lines what else is there? At leinster the defence has played exactly the same way for at least five years. Kicking ? At leinster that's left to Sexton and if you have to be coached to kick -- then serious questions should be asked of those who signed the player up. Ki...

Re: Training squad
Proof that BoD has some clout-- the inclusion of P Wallace a player who showed a lot of promise in his early twenties but in the last year has failed to improve and if anything owes his game time for Ulster to Caves injury . Spence has a greater potential at this time as an inside centre than Paddy,...

Re: Training squad
lack of game time for Cave is a given and could be the reason for lack of fitness but fitness can be acquired quite quickly and to a certain extent you might say he looked fitter than O Driscoll at the end of the season who appeared to carrying injury. Cave's pluses for me are the fact that defensiv...

Re: Training squad
The training squad is 43 95% are predictable which of course makes it appear unimaginative. I disagree with Neil F regarding Cave I can see logic in the exclusion of Carr in that the truth is Ireland have better wingers available included in the squad who may not actual play. McFadden has played a n...
