Re: RWC warm up matches

Sorry to hear Addison injured and that it might risk his chance of a trip to Japan and the RWC but I must agree with Solidarty’s sentiments. If they aren’t going to be starting then let’s have them home and Leinster can play their Academy players and Munster can sign another injury joker.

Re: Will Addison

Providing we don’t pick up any serious injuries in pre-season training I would follow Dave’s views rather than Rums negative rant.
Of course Rum’s views are supposed to be sacrosanct.

Re: Japan RWC

I agree Shan couldn’t understand playing him ahead of Conway he had a nightmare in the Heineken cup I would have had him off after 20 minutes.
I reckon Ulster got the best signing from Sale although when he was signed he was generally seen as a back up player not as a replacement forJarrod Payne.

Re: Pre Season Friendlies 2019/20

Not impressed by a 1:30 pm Kick Off on a Saturday on the First Saturday back, Schools And Club Rugby will probably have commenced so why not play this on either Friday or Saturday night. It is not as if theTV companies were dictating this time to fit in with their schedules. I cannot see any benefit...

Also during the last week Pro14 were offering tickets for kids for £1 so this must have boosted the numbers too.

One can only hope !
And to think Geordie Best’s cousin once professed that he wanted to play for Ulster.
Sometimes we are lucky.

Re: Faddes Confirmed

Agreed Charle was an unnecessary luxury who certainly did not show much commitment during his final 12 months. If the new signing shows even half the commitment of Jared then he will be alright.
Jared has proved to have been one our best NIQ signings,

Re: Any word on the Academy?

It takes two to tango and maybe as it might surprise some on here that some players are putting a career and university first and keeping on rugby as a pastime/ sport.

Re: Glasgow v Ulster, Fri May 17, 19:35

Let’s just hope that season wise we have saved the best to the last. I personally put the last result in Glasgow down the Heineken Semi final versus a weeks rest for Glasgow. This time we have a recovery week and time to plan our game whereas Glasgow have a 3 week gap in which to become bored and le...

Re: Bill Johnston

Given the resources available due to injury etc the decision by Dan to play Lowry at full back was more down to necessity than choice. Lowry certainly brings excitement and bravery on the field but he does give You some heart stopping moments when he plays. Unfortunately the more he plays the more h...

Re: Munster 18/19

Gerry Flannery and Felix Jones have both rejected contract offers from MunsterRugby.
Seems a bit like deja vu from last year at Ulster when everything is in flux.
I get the impression that their Staffa Coach is not entirely popular with the proud and faithful

Re: Glasgow v Ulster, Fri May 17, 19:35

The early results were a legacy of Kiss and Gibbes. Will be interesting to see the reception Gibbes will get at Kingspan if La Rochelle come to call.
London Irish would get a mixed reception with Kiss being offset by their announcement today.

Re: Ulster v Connacht, Sat May 4th 2019 17:35

After the performance AT the Aviva anything is possible, pity we aren’t going to Thoond next as they seemed very takeable. On Resent form. If Stockdale is back and possibly Ludicrous it would strengthen our team immensely. I know that Lowry is exciting to watch and brave in defence but I would feel ...

Re: Ulster v Leinster Sat Apr 27th 5:15pm

Not a classic match but a great result. Once again Dans policy of fighting for every inch has come through again. Probably helped by a few Leinster men wanting to make a point. As they say here in the North who ever sold Tomaine to Leinster must have seen them coming. For an overseas player with 17 ...
