Re: Sharks v Ulster Saturday 23rd March 1pm Kick Off Viaplay Sports

Can’t really argue too much with CIMans logic even if it is a bit pessimistic. I think part of t He problem is even though the squad was cut at the end of last season we are still carrying to much dead wood. There are a number of squad members who we are carrying who are not going to make it. I can ...

Re: Richie Murphy - right man for the job?

I don’t think you were here Justin when we had the golden boy Matt Williams in front of the camera, ( look how that ended) R Murphy is not here as a PRO but as coach and we don’t need anyone promising the world in front of the camera but someone who can revive what talent we have in the squad. Perso...

Re: Harlequins v Ulster Sat Jan 20 1pm KO TNT Sports 2

From previous matches it would seem that. Timoney and McCann will interchange depending on the circumstances so just be glad both are fit and able to play.
I would be more worried about the 6 rather than either of them.

Re: Petries Answering Questions

I suspect part of the problem on the terraces is the feeding in from the back. On the original terrace you entered from the front and as you walked along you could see where there were spaces in the crowd but filling from the rear it is difficult to see spaces especially in the lower levels. It is s...

Re: Ulster vs Stade Toulousain 13/01/24 TNT Sports

Seems highly unlikely that Toulouse will send a weakened team against Ulster. I read or heard somewhere that we had played them more often than any other team in the ERC 13 times with 6 wins each and one draw so whilst we should obviously respect them they will not be dismissing the trip to Belfast ...

Re: English Premiership 23/24

Racing statement reminded me of the statements issued by Football Clubs when they say they have every confidence in the manager and they are already interviewing his replacement.

Re: Injury Update

It may seem harsh but I think Crouch is right about Lowry,I think it is more due lack of alternatives due to injuries that he find himself on the Bench to morrow. I suppose he would go to fullback if any of the three quarters are injured and Stewart Moore would be moved to cover the injury or Flanne...

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides

Two problems Covid and Jonny Petrie handling of the La Rochelle fiasco and the premature dismissal of the ground staff have left UR in financial difficulty.
The current performance on the field is not likely to resolve the finances in a hurry.

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides

Surprised if it is with immediate effect after all the hassle with the SRU over Dan McFarland release from his contract at what in effect was the end of the season. Of course he is not going to an immediate rival in the URCand it could be argued that he is getting more experience at Toulouse. And th...

Re: Ulster v Lions

Just read the IT piece on the Ulster vLions game and really surprised that within the waffle there was no mention of the significant appearance on the bench especially after all the talk previously of the weakness of the Ulster front row. For those that don’t understand the significance pity and sha...

Re: Ulster v Lions

Suftum19 fair points re selection and agree hugely about Marty Moore his loss last year was a real disaster not only for his scrummaging but perhaps more for his ability to pop up at the right place and use his delicate handling touch. A much over looked player.

Re: Ulster v Munster

From the latest injury info I would favour a McCluskey and Marshall combination and Stewart Moore going into Full back. Lowry seems doubtful injury wise and I would tend to favour Moore anyway.

Re: Injury Update

Couldn’t understand the decision not to retain JTA as when he got over his initial lack of fitness he proved to be a very effective. Performer. IHe seemed to have settled in well both on and off the field atUlster an the indications seemed to be That he would be happy to stay. I don’t think that we ...

Re: Where do we go from here?

It is interesting to see how a few clubs in Bankruptcy can change the whole scene around. The Celtic League was seen by the English Media as the poor relation . How things have changed. Experience of the ERC has shown all abiding self interest of the English Premiership Clubs you only have to look a...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

I amreally quite surprised by the tone of this article. It seems that people do care about youth rugby certainly more than the Ulster Branch PRO department who seem to have ignored these games. No mention that the Schools under 18 are taking the field again on Wednesday at Donnybrook. Leinster schoo...
