Re: Ulster v Weegies

Lowry was itching to get back on and play a bit of 10 after his stitches. No real injuries which is a plus. Still a big gulf between Cooney and the rest. The Tredders Carter combo looked good. Graham Curtis is a speedy wee hallion. Reidy is a class act and it looks like Grant has been working well w...

Re: Glasgow v Ulster, Fri May 17, 19:35

Lyttle picked up a wee injury in the Connacht match and probably not worth risking.

Re: Bill Johnston

If Michael Lowry was 3 or 4 inches taller would he not be targeted as a 10?

How tall is Janny Sexton?

Re: Bill Johnston

McPhillips I believe is coming to the end of a 2yr deal, I am unaware of a new deal, and he has hardly played this season. This may be a replacement, rather than any reflection of Lowry. ML is clearly a 10, but any first team exposure at this point is great development for him. McPhillips is gone a...

Re: Glasgow v Ulster, Fri May 17, 19:35

I watched Peel and Tredders do a catching drill one on one during warm up. Peel took the ball about 5m or so away and booted it at the big lad. He caught every one and some were spectacular. I was thinking similar thoughts about his play last year and his dropping tendency, and to me this seemed lik...

Re: Ulster v Connacht, Sat May 4th 2019 17:35

Dear God the officials seriously fancy themselves, especially Brace. Warming up on the touch line like he thought he was playing. I can understand loosening up and leg stretches but neck and shoulders? Really? Are the whistles And flegs really that heavy? And wee interval sprints and footwork drill ...

Could lack of BBC coverage be a factor? I know if it's on tele it might keep a few people in on rubbish nights, but it's also essentially free advertising.

Have there been more Saturday matches this year as they don't seem to get as big an attendance?

Re: Ulster v Leinster Sat Apr 27th 5:15pm

Flabbergasted at the McFadden stitch. Touch judge flagged for it. I couldn't work out what they were looking for on the big screen cos I was miles away and looking at the ruck. But if he gave a penalty then that is a red all day, all night and the next day too. People get red carded "by the letter ...

Re: Edinburgh vs Ulster

Was rewatching the highlights. So many good performances and several guys looked like they had their identical twins playing. Not a big moment but it summed up Hendy for me. Embra had set up a maul on our 22. It was creeping forward and sideways. Hendy took a run at 'er from about 5m and piled in. T...

The best thing about making the playoffs has to be awkward smiley double thumbs-up Hendy from UR.
