Re: Any word on the Academy?

I caught the last 10 of the first and then the second half (slightly distracted by wains [emoji849]) when I got there it was 10-7 and Munster had just scored, Ulster dominated possession and played some great stuff and scored two absolute crackers to finish 24-7 up at HT. Second half was very frustr...

Re: Richie Murphy - right man for the job?

Tom Clough leaving as well. Bit by bit feels like there is a changing of the guard in the coaching ticket, which is good to see IMO

Re: Summer tour to SA 2024

The more I look at the forwards, I puzzle over how POM, Healy, and the likes of Prendergast got the nod. Munster can feel aggrieved Hodnett didn't make it, ditto McCann for us. Loughman is more the future than Healey. Coombes, jury is out but I'm not sure it would've been a stretch to include him a...

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides

Izzy’s selection hasn’t been questioned and is seen as a suitable reward for his “excellent season”. Whereas we all know that his excellent season has pretty much consisted of three and a half hours in the last four games. Incredible really. Talk about a “bolter”. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets...

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides

Glasgow were excellent, tbh the scoreline flattered Munster. Seeing lots of comment along the lines of ‘disappointed by the loss, but Rowntree is building something special’ which I don’t see at all. Munster look bang average to me. With a full team out we beat them. Over the last 2 seasons they’ve ...

Re: David Humphreys comments-promising.

If you are seriously aspiring to be an int option you need Euro games to display it. Deegan splayed zero this season, one last season, 3 season before that….but none knock out games. Penny is going that way already. A few seasons ago he was looking like Sean obrien mk2 - he’s stalled already. Timon...

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides

Really poor tbh - for all that Bulls is a hard place to go and are a very good side, and played as well as I’ve seen them play this season to boot. But that was poor stuff - out-played tactically, dominated in the scrum, second best at the breakdown, and completely toothless attack (shocking how far...

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides

Leinster 7 point favourites away to Bulls. They need a win, in fact they need to win the tournament, at a canter really, given the financial and other resources at their disposal. Stretching their trophy-less streak to what would it be, 4 years? would be a bit embarrassing by this stage..

Re: David Humphreys comments-promising.

Actually, having read the Humphreys interview, he makes exactly the same points about players sitting 3rd / 4th / 5th choice and what that tells the coaches about their ambition, so very much from the same hymn sheet.

Re: David Humphreys comments-promising.

Definitely the right decision for Conan, if I'd been advising him there's no way he should have countenanced a move away from Leinster - genuinely in the mix for first team, even with Doris around, and almost a lock-in for the 23. Players like Deegan & Penny are another matter entirely - enterin...

Re: 20s World Championship in South Africa 2024

Kind of embarrassing how Ulster are trumpeting 6 guys in the 20s squad - I mean, be honest. It's 3. Which is dreadful. Hugh was hemming and hawing in the fan's forum about how to measure success at age grade, well to me it's pretty obvious, results in the inter-pros (which have been desperate for th...

Re: Squad depth 2024/25

Depth and quality in the front five is woefully inadequate, not replacing Kitshoff at all is just shocking. We went into last season with 3 THs, needed an emergency signing within 3 weeks and ended up promoting an academy player, you'll never guess what we've done this year when we don't have an ac...

I know this is duplicative, but given how long it took me to fiddle around with the colours before posting I'm posting the final update  Loosehead: O'Sullivan - Warwick - Reid - Boal Hooker: Herring - Stewart - Andrew - McCormick - Walker - Solomon Tighthead: Moore - O'Toole - Wilson - Doak - B...

Academy intake is the 3 Leinster backs plus Bryn Ward (Back Row), Jonny Scott (Centre), Clark Logan (Scrum Half) and James McKillop (Back Row).
Awesome thanks - will update. Any of the current academy boys being released for next season?
