Re: Contract Situation

Sorry to be a downer on a Friday, but I’ve heard that the one rumour that I was hoping would prove to be unfounded in fact has legs… namely that in fact it is 12 contracts that are going, with the 12th being Stu [emoji30] Not a done deal yet but Ulster are expecting him to go. Looking forward to Pe...

Re: Contract Situation

If Stu, Addison and Marshall go, centres would be Postlethwaite, Moore, Hume, Moxham.... Who else? Stockdale to 13??? Moxham doesn't look to have the ability at wing imo, so putting him anywhere near a more technical position like centre would be a disaster. The runny stuff will hit the fan if Stu ...

Re: Schools Cup 2022 and 2023

Think this year is a fairly open year, but hard to disagree with your rank there. It really is much of a muchness between all teams. SUS probably the weakest IMO though beating MCB in Pirrie was a very good result for them Cunningham is the one name being thrown about the most from anything I’ve he...

He’s certainly well rated as a coach in the Ulster/Irish system. Likewise Jonny Graham.

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Team of Soper, Faloon and A N Other would do me well. Doak is still kicking about if him or Soper could cover forwards / defence with Faloon taking his preference of either Forwards or defence.

Funny that the report is worded that he is stepping down rather than being sacked - exactly as a narcissist would want it worded as

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Ulster need a seasoned head coach. The last 3 Head coaches have been inexperienced in their role. Kiss, Gibbs and McFarland have never been head coach until they took over here. No, they need a coach who the players will buy in to and improve the players. I couldn’t give a rats ass if that means he...

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Interesting that on return to URC action, Dan Soper was rolled out for the press. In fact it’s been very noticeable recently that McFarland has increasingly been off the radar in comms, and Soper has been doing more and more - in the past McFarland has been squarely front and centre. And it’s been ...

Unless there’s some KPI’s we’re missing it’s not like he’s done a stellar job here.

Re: Contract Situation

Really begs the question who is running the accounts, some seriously questionable decisions being made lately - signing Coetzee, Vermuelan, Kitschoff and Ewers on big money bar maybe Ewers, on top of the massive academy/sub-academy intake this year too. Doesn’t reflect well on Petrie giving the abov...
