Ulster in SA
Assuming the squad have left or are leaving soon for 2 weeks in SA. What are the expectations for the 2 games? Given our defence the last few games I expect high scoring games - the sharks have been woeful so may be out best chance of a win, but I expect Kok et al will be champing at the bit to turn...

Ignored the head shot to furlong as well. Is that not the same TMO who cheated ulster in Cape Town also?Joe Schmo wrote:Surely it was the downward pressure that caused that ball to scoot backwards after it hit the ground. That was a nuts decision imo.

Re: Ulster's finances
Surely the GAA wouldn’t have the nerve to charge us too much considering the scandalous amount of money it’s going to cost the taxpayer overall?? Not known as the grab all association for no reason. Charged the irfu 1.5m per match in 2008 for the 6 nations for the use of croker. Interesting if chea...

Have the irfu not been buying up properties behind the low end of the aviva when they become available? Just following the leader.Columbo wrote:This is certainly a strange one and I have no idea what the plan is thereCockatrice wrote:And yet UR buy up residential properties for 1/2m and leave empty [emoji848]

Re: 2024 U20's
They’ve doubled down on that online. Can’t find the tournament rules - could be a head to head element or something? No it is points difference, then tries scored. They were wrong and are just burying their heads in the sand. England +59 v Ireland +41 PD, Ireland 18 tries v England 17. They seemed ...

Ref is a total homer. Ireland the better side but England with the bosh as usual.

Quinn roux and Jack dunne both out of contract this year. Either would be a useful pick up with the strangler leaving.

Re: The skipper
I'll withhold judgment until the real pressure comes on in a game as that is when the true leadership character reveals itself. I hope having the captaincy raises his own game for a start, which will be beneficial.

Re: Team for Dragoons
Until ulster have an outhalf who can kick long as well as throw a fast skip pass to 13 we will struggle. Doak had the potential but he is 6-7 years behind his peers in terms of experience at 10. Not ideal.

This was just the game we needed tonight to bring a bit of confidence back. Maul defence a worry but some decent positives going forward with players looking to try things.
Still a long way to go but the SA trip will help Murphy get his thoughts across.

Re: Team for Dragoons
Like the look of the team, apart from Hume as captain as I think he is too hot-headed confrontational in his mannerisms. Hope to be proven wrong though. It's the old tactic of giving the disruptor a position of responsibility. Can make them toe the line or make things worse. We'll see on Saturday n...
