Re: Ulster Rugby Round-Up podcast

You didn't do a traditional highlights package / review of 2017.
No one did it on here either.
My question is therefore what were your lows and lowers of 2017?

For me there was Ruans departure game v Leinster and em... I'm sure there's more,.I just seem to have developed temporary amnesia.

Re: Papering over cracks, Daves and Caves....

Gibbes was a great appointment for us.
I have seen progress in the scrum technically since his arrival but that's about all he could hang his hat on.
Watching his work being obliterated in the first half will therefore not have sat well with him.

Clarified with Jim afterwards his calling Diack 'OUTstanding' was a mistake.
He meant to say 'Just'.

Re: Ulsterboys V The Munstermen

Plenty of gallows humour in the corner of the East Terrace during the first half. The one crumb of comfort we took was that at least we'd get a good view of the action in the second forty. How wrong we were. Apart from the cricket in Leeds in '81, I can't think of a bigger swing! Two things I was e...

Flattered by the comparison Baggy but the question everyone wants to know now is does Dave wear knickers?

Re: Papering over cracks, Daves and Caves....

He was playing 12 v Connacht. Has rum not forgotten that the posters on here want to see him at 13 in his best position? At least defensively we were a lot better and Caves clear organisational role in the key 13 channel may well be a lot of the reason behind that. However Munster came as we thought...

Re: TMO protocol

Talk less ballix and you'll be fine. It's called opinion Dave. However people are saying that was a stiff arm to the neck, it just simply wasn't. It wasn't late either. Proper old school hit on the 10 which people like you get your knickers in a twist about with no appreciation for the skill and ti...

There wasn't much in it but it was to the top of the chest not the bottom of the neck in my view.

Re: Ulsterboys V The Munstermen

It really is good when players play in their correct positions in the backs, ball moves freely and defence from backs actually works. Now what really happened at half time ? Did the players throw the gameplan down the toilet and just play what was in front of them or did Les fire them up, I reckon ...

Re: TMO protocol

I agreed with IH in commentary that the initial hit was to the chest browner and there was a wrap attempt. Borderline but fair. As with Payne v Goode the fact Christian stayed down influenced the decision. But I'm a bit old school. If someone stayed down it was due to a great hit now it's because th...

Re: TMO protocol

Still not the point why can't the table be put on report if the ref isn't sure or if he is just make a decision?
Great hit from Arnold should be allowed but isn't.
No place for tip tackles so should be yellow and wasn't.
