Not a lot of hope for the players in that squad apart from Dougan, Heasley, Cunningham and Halpin

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Too many squads, talent diluted in the north. If your not involved in an ulster training squad of some sort then it’s a surprise. Bring back Ulster schools when it was the best 15 players in the province. No need for u16,u17,u18 and u19. Too many egos being created. Sent from my iPhone using Tapata...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

The development game was better than I thought it would be considering the conditions. The ail lads nous and physicality showed in the end but our young lads will be better for the experience. From an Ulster pov Lorcan mcloughlin was the best player on the park imo- ready for senior opportunities. J...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

To put in perspective, results at underage level however nice, aren’t the be all and end all. Take the u19s for example, they will probably not win many this year but by my reckoning have at least 1 guaranteed future academy, a probable academy and a few potential academy players- that’s what’s most...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

It's just embarrassing now how guff ulster are from top to bottom. Lost cause. An utter mess. It has become so disheartening following Ulster at all levels. I had hoped to travel to the Bath match in December. Thank I will go to a Pantomime instead. Same difference. Isnt it strange that the U18 Sch...

Still a poor result though
How many were missing? Was this a warm-up game then? Bit harsh on squads and players if they are missing their best players.
6/7 missing from ulster

Yes a warm up game- Connacht enter the clubs interpro series

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Disappointed to hear the news this week that Irish u18 scrumhalf David Armstrong has chosen to quit the age grade pathway, he was a talent who would’ve just missed out on an academy contract which will now go probably to Clark Logan next year Or was he dropped from it? I heard he was playing for Qu...
