Re: Best rugby player from each of the 32 counties

Ken Goodall is the obvious choice for Derry. Mike Gibson for Down although Mayne would be a good backup

Sexton has been playing brilliantly for Ballynahinch. He’s definitely worth persevering.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Mon Jan 1 5:15pm KO

Dalton is getting an unfair press in these comments. Perhaps you may have more justification at the end of his season with Angouleme and perhaps not. McBurney also. He took a chance and moved to Scotland. True it hasn’t proved a great idea so far . Some of cimanforever’s remarks are relevant and it’...

Re: Ulster v Connacht

Gluhwien is normally the mulled wine of choice especially when they add star anise and cinnamon. As for the rugby I would stick to the Gluhwien

Re: Ulster v Racing 92 Saturday 8pm KO TNT Sports 3

I have now seen this game twice. How we won surprises me . Racing were very fluent at stages . I was talking to a few of them afterwards and they found the referees interpretations a little puzzling. Still we mustn’t gripe .

Re: Dan’s Not the Man.

Agreed re sexton ..definitely no. Dan has unfortunately lost interest but he will want to honour his contract and Ulster can’t afford to buy him out. Hopefully once we are officially turfed out of Europe he may be persuaded to try some younger members of the squad. He has talked about doing so but I...

Re: Bath v Ulster

Ageeed points re Rea. AoC is also a gamble..suspect he’s probably on the team because he can effectively be the leader of an undisciplined core. Plus Treadwell hasn’t really made himself indispensable, has he . McNabney is a gamble and the pressure will be on O’Toole who should be better prepared th...

Re: URC: Ulster Rugby v Edinburgh Rugby Sat 2nd Dec 17:15

Disappointing performance yet again. The only way out is to sacrifice this season and infect the team with young blood. Play the likes of Crothers ,Wilson , Sheridan and Sexton. There is nothing to be gained by selecting the likes of Matty ( he does try )Rea or Greg Jones. We will not win anything t...

Re: Glasgow v Ulster

Re tonight. Our back row were up against it but did well in the circumstances. McNabney played well. Crothers I believe should make our starting xv before the end of this season. Hume was again outstanding but I think Luke Marshall’s best days are behind him. Billy was as usual injured early on . St...

Re: Ulster v Lions

I would have concerns about someone who went to the same school as Stanley Johnston. Hopefully Lorcan can put that setback aside . Not a bad selection however. Great to see Wilson getting his chance at such a young age for a no. 3

Re: Ulster v Munster

If we don’t win tonight it will be fairly calamitous. This match is much more important than a URC home fixture. It’s a test of where we are presently at . There has been a long wait to start the season. We were lucky against the Bulls and possibly a bit unlucky against Connacht . McCloskey will mak...

Re: Connacht V Ulster

Many of the remarks on this site are frankly nonsense. It was a decent performance by a team that nothing was expected of. As usual a number of you have been slating Sexton. He played reasonably well and will improve this season if he’s given time. Hume is back to where he was before last season and...
