Ulster only have 2 scrum halves capable of starting. Not great for Doak but we have to muddle through this season. At least he got a run of a few games for now.

Flannery should get a few games too. Best environment to see them both in

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

When looking at who is on a central contract it's clear that the irfu has been generous to ulster by giving one to Hendy, now ireland's 4th choice lock.

Re: Ulster's finances

Wished they'd signed him for more than a few months as it may have tempted some of their backs to look elsewhere (albeit munster, Connacht, anywhere but ulster right now ) .

Instead they'll just suck it up for a few months

I'm sure I saw an article last week where Dave McCann reckoned the sky was the limit for this team.

Re: The Decline of Ferris

Maybe Stevie Ferris should give the players some advice instead as he certainly knows what it's like to be that low. He was after all part of ulster teams which finished 2nd bottom, 3rd bottom and 3rd bottom over 3 consecutive years from 2007/2008 onwards

Re: Richie Murphy - right man for the job?

The trip to SA was disappointing, given that we’d won our six previous Saffer encounters. The Challenge Cup campaign went how I expected over the two games (although I wasn’t necessarily thinking we’d leak another fifty…) I’d like to believe that Murphy has been given a clear bottom line of finishi...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

If the irfu are happy for 4 out of 5 outhalfs to sit in leinster and it not affect their international chances, then they must allow ulster to sign a ten. It is too important a position to be hoping someone will work out. Cooney has perhaps one or two seasons left, doak could have nailed down the 9...

Re: The Decline of Ferris

Who wins what? Trophies?

Answer: neither of them

If the current team could also have 4 NIQ's including 3 world cup winners and 3 out of 4 in the pack they would be doing better

Maybe time to restart the Positives and Negatives post match thread.

Positives - Ulster rugby has a hitherto unknown Turnover King

Negatives - everything else.

Re: Clermont v Ulster, Saturday April 13 12:30pm (UK Time) TNT Sports - Actual Channel TBC

The reality is that without SK and Hendy, our pack on paper does not have what it takes to beat up a French pack. The only way we managed to do it last week with those 2 was because Montpellier's pack lost its collective mind. So I agree with Big-Al, let the young bucks make a name for themselves. ...

Re: Luke retiring at the end of the season

Top player. Warrior indeed. I remember some games during the Les Kiss era where he was literally ulster's sole competent defender . Like Andrew Trimble he always gave it his all, good days or bad. Wish him an injury free happy next stage of his life. Thanks for the memories , passion and commitment ...

Re: Teflon Man

It’s also not true that we are producing no players. The majority of our pack is now home grown, or at least a respectable pack could be put out with a good home grown contingent. Warwick, Stewart, O’Toole, Hendo, Sheridan, Rea Jr, McCann, Rea Sr Granted there are some problems there, primarily at ...
