Re: Come gather round people....
Who cares what an Antrim GAA man says? I wouldn't be a follower of GAA, although i have watched a few games in my time. I'm an Antrim man and I'm embarrassed of my County Team. I wouldn't even call it a County team more an amateur backwater... i've always thought it a crying shame that belfast does...

Re: Come gather round people....
Agree with Baggy on the 20% at Ravers, and the 40% at Methody surprised me too. Even in a town as divided as Lurgan there were quite a few catholics played in my time which was brilliant. Lurgan's one problem (if Lurgan has only one problem) is that the rugby club is reached through the Mourneview ...

Re: Come gather round people....
I suppose the converse would be me, a unionist, being annoyed if an Ulster rugby player WAS singing the SS at a home Ireland game. I suppose thinking about it that way I would guess some unionists may actually find it annoying. To me it seems like, in either case, someone getting annoyed at the comp...

Re: Come gather round people....
The bit where Barry McElduff complains about some of the Ulster players not singing the SS whilst playing for Ireland. Is that really a "bugbear" for nationalists in the north? That comment puzzled me. Genuinely interested to hear from anyone who wishes to announce themselves as nationalis...

Stevenson and Henderson.
Falloon has been really poor of late. Just so disappointing.
Pity Diack is out.

Re: Edinburgh on the Sunday night after the Ireland match
Probably not a club, been a while, though who knows. Bunch of lads from mid thirties to early forties. Wouldnt want an early night but neither will we be keen on standing in a place full of eeed up kids listening to cack music. Really dislike Sunday games for just this reason. 6 nations games should...

Edinburgh on the Sunday night after the Ireland match
Hi - Planning a trip to the Scotland Ireland match next February. With the game being on a Sunday afternoon we are considering shifting our usual Friday - SUnday trip to a Saturday - Monday one instead. There are concerns that Edinburgh will be as dead as a dodo on Sunday night. Any opinions from th...

Re: Stuart Barnes. What's his problem?
I really dont think we are that big underdogs.
We get our top team out, fit, and we can give them a real go.
If Leinster really are 4-1 on to win, I think I might actually have a bit of a bet on Ulster.

Re: UR and UK City of Culture
You dont think that maybe by playing this grand total of one game a year in a "Catholic" city Ulster rugby might be taking another small step on the path to eroding the view that wearing an UR top is a reliable indicator as to what side of the fence you were born on. ??? Maybe you are you...

Re: UR and UK City of Culture
got nothing to do with being based in belfast or UR being a belfast team. i'm not based in belfast BTW. UR play their home games at ravenhill where they have played for decades. we do not play them in the NW. Your argument does not stand up. Should UR play in monaghan/ or cavan/ or even enniskillen...

Re: Pro12 11/12 Attendances
Jeez, you're a touchy lot up there at the moment, pre-match nerves I presume. Anyway, asking if you could fill the new 18K stadium on a consistent basis was not meant as any kind of a dig at ulster fans. Merely wondering what the support base up in ulster is. What are the numbers in ulster likely t...

Re: UR and UK City of Culture
Sorry, dont get this. How will playing a match in the NW increase UR's fan base that will attend matches at Ravenhill. Yes I am sure there are many in the NW who would go to a match played in Derry but how many would then start to come to Ravenhill on a regular basis? Very few I would imagine. You ...

Re: UR and UK City of Culture
So the folk in stroke city expect Ulster matches to come to them then? If thats the case, as an Ireland supporter I expect at least 1 six nations game a year at Ravenhill. Because I dont want to travel to Dublin..... Given that you are an Ireland supporter who live in Ireland, I think it is a fair ...

Re: UR and UK City of Culture
Why not the Brandywell stadium? I would doubt the suitability purely from a spectator safety prospective. There has been numerous public order incidents following soccer games featuring teams from Belfast. The local youth are highly strung. To be honest I really have no idea about any of the stadiu...
