Re: UR and UK City of Culture
So what about those 100s of Man United & Liverpool fans etc who trek every weekend from all corners of the UK and Ireland to attend games? Should they start playing a league game a year at Windsor just because some fans wont drive more than 25 miles to see them play  These fans choose ...

by bigchiefally » Wed May 09, 2012 9:48 am Ulster should play one proper, ie league, game there every year. Why?! Ravenhill is Ulster Rugbys home ground! By and large Ulster rugby fans at Ravenhill come from Belfast and 25 or so miles around it. I am sure some are itching to mention a few people wh...

Re: UR and UK City of Culture
BCA; technically, the pitch isn't big enough - the pitch at the Brandywell is exactly 100m long and, due to the shape of the playing surface because of the greyhound track, couldn't readily be extended. The corners of the football pitch sit on the extremity of the surface. Rugby requires a playing ...

Why not the Brandywell stadium?Kofi Annan wrote:Can any of you suggest where? You will want a good crowd say in excess of 5k, so what is your plan?Big-al wrote:bigchiefally wrote:Ulster should play one proper, ie league, game there every year.

Re: Pro12 11/12 Attendances
I think our attendance numbers are pretty disappointing. Was it a few years ago that we were averaging around 10k a game? Average Pro12 attendances peaked in the 06/07 season at 10,200 and have slowly declined every season since to the current average of 8,200. The reduction in ground capacity has ...

Re: Team v Munster
Dont understand why Falloon is in for Birch. He has been poor of late and isnt going to be here next year. Also cant understand why Luke Marshall isnt getting a game instead of Whitten as Whitten is likewise off. Happy enough for Jackson and Trimble to start, Trimble needs to find his pre Ireland 6 ...

Re: Humphreys set to leave Ulster for Premiership
Is there a more important position on a rugby pitch than a Fly Half? I doubt it. This is a worry given that we have - a very untested Jackson who I know excites many but I have yet to see a star in the making there - an even less tested and possibly moving McKinney - a tested and frankly not great a...

Re: Big Screen At City Hall
Would be a very poor effort in comparison to Munster if we dont have it on a big screen somewhere.
Nolan is the man to sort it. Used to captain the Inst 2nds as a Hooker in his time there.

Re: Rory Best - an Ulsterman who bleeds Ulster ...
I'm going to be near puking with nerves come Saturday :puker:  I know what you mean. I really hope it isnt as tense as the quarter. We were right up at the very last row so stood pretty much the whole second half. Just so nervous! Followed sports all my life but never had such a draining exper...
