Re: Who Really is to Blame

Correction Neil ... Ulster have been invited to at least 2 Hen parties so far this year ... where for a few bob they publically stripped buck naked for the crowd, wore L plates performed silly acts for a laugh and after the punters had their fun they were allowed to get dressed again and return hom...

Re: Who Really is to Blame

Ulster were bridesmaids under McLaughlin when they lost to a much better Leinster side in a Heineken Cup Final. Ulster were bridesmaids under Anscombe when they, narrowly, lost a Pro12 final that, probably, hinged on the bizarre decision by UR to let a "home" final be held at the home of t...

Re: Who Really is to Blame

There are players in the Ulster squad who were probably too far gone before they arrived in Belfast... Some are struggling because, as much as it pains me to say it, they are now past it and age has taken its toll. Others, genuinely, I think are just struggling in the current setup. Put another way,...

Re: Who Really is to Blame

Kiss is broadly useless but it does go deeper than him, the culture as a whole is off throughout the squad. You're dead on Crouchy. What I don't get is this continued instance from some that the "culture... throughout the squad" is somehow detached from coaching / management staff and the...

Re: Who Really is to Blame

Funnily enough, I know there had been musings on this forum before the Edinburgh game that Kiss needed to go. Edinburgh was the first time I thought there might be something to it because of that frankly bizarre interview Kiss gave before the game saying that Ulster hadn't targeted it as "must ...

Re: Who Really is to Blame

Let's delineate for a second: Kiss is, certainly, a problem. I have no doubt about that. He might not be all of problems but that is a different matter. Kiss is the fixed effect across two to three seasons of performances going seriously backwards. Does Kiss have a great set of players? Hell no. In ...

Re: Leinster v Ulster: Positives versus the Negatives

I almost chocked on my porridge this morning when I read what Kiss had said. What I don't get is that, surely if he is in self-protect mode, attempting to claim that Ulster have nearly as much talent as Leinster only draws further attention to his own failings as a coach? In game theory, there is an...

Re: So say the 'noise' gets too loud .... and he goes ....

Having berated Les Kiss myself, I was chatting with a dog whom is very well connected with a senior member of the squad:- The problems lie deeper within the organisation than with Les Kiss, were his words  The problems with the whole organisation at UR are relevant and should also be discu...

Re: So say the 'noise' gets too loud .... and he goes ....

I can't help but feel the focus on individuals is part of the problem at Ulster. The question is not, for me, about who should replace Kiss when he is put out of his misery but about how the coaching setup should look. I have no doubt that Kiss has been nothing short of a fecking disaster. He needs ...

Re: La Rochelle Vs Ulster Sun 22/10/17 15.15 Sky Sports Acti

Im surprised at the level of outrage aimed at Ulster by some on here. A quick search showed that in 2015/16 The La Rochelle budget was 16.4 Million. Ulsters was 9.3. At the end of the day we - and the other Provinces cannot continue to compete with the English and French. They have the money to buy...

Re: La Rochelle Vs Ulster Sun 22/10/17 15.15 Sky Sports Acti

Neil, you seem to have made more or less the same decisions I did in respect of how the play unfolded, you just have yer panties in a bunch about it whereas I simply saw what I expected - no that's not quite true - what I saw was not nearly as bad as I had expected for I wouldn't have been surprise...

Re: La Rochelle Vs Ulster Sun 22/10/17 15.15 Sky Sports Acti

So we need a player who can kick for touch, make decisions and be a leader, is that what you're saying? Can't argue with that. Maybe. But I find it difficult to believe that poor exits are, specifically, a player problem, given that the problem has persisted over a number of seasons with a few diff...
