they signed Wian Du Peez who they had on a 3 month contract last year on a 2-year deal i think. He won a cap for SA against Italy in the Autumn so he is NIQ. Borlase is the allocated 'project' player though he is signed on a 2 year contract

Wian Du Preez is a loosehead prop which Ireland has sufficent depth in Healy, Court, Horan and Wilkinson. Sexton and O'Gara (Debatable) are the only international class outhalves in Ireland. Plus considering Munster are providing Ireland with our No 1&2 TH props (God help us) in Buckley and Haye...
