Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

HB ain’t coming to UR, just can’t see it. The IRFU have zero reasons to block an NIQ 10 from UR. DH is going to have to ruffle some feathers. As an aside - let’s just remember in this shitshow it’s forced our hand to expose McCann Wilson Sheridan and now Izzy. I see JP is now back focusing on d at ...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Why would we consider Harry Byrne ? Why would Leinster let him go if he was any good ? And what can he do better than Billy Burns? Goalkicking probably, but we already have two better than him. Harry Byrne is significantly better than Burns, let’s not kid ourselves. Leinster wouldn’t be letting him...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

we’ll be keeping the same rubbish coaches as we have this past two seasons.

Not one back has improved since Soper has taken the attack coaching role, most of them have regressed.

Next season won’t be any different.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

Seems a reasonable appointment if true. Needs to be given a long runway for the rebuild though, to clear out the stench of medicority in the organisation. I'm glad money is being thrown at coaches rather than players at this point, as the otherway around would be putting the cart before the horse i...

Re: Ulster v Benetton Fri Apr 26 7:35pm KO BBC2 NI / RTE2 / Premier Sports UK

Interesting to see what approach Benetton take re the game on Friday. They have their Challenge Cup Semi Final the week after away to Gloucester whose best hope of Champions Cup rugby lies in winning the Challenge Cup. Do they send the 1st XV or hold a few back for the following week? Treviso need ...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!

I’ll happily say it. If we are effectively going to be playing a side heavily filled with pups, so be it. It’ll likely be the closest thing to a home grown UR side for yrs. Non CC qualified, ok….a yr in the challenge cup with pups might not be a bad thing for their development. I don’t know re part...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7p7qKt6ATyk&pp=ygUMdWxzdGVyIHJ1Z2J5 18:50 in. Appears we did approach Cruden. Between this and a non commital answer from the new CEO in the interview with Trimble. I take 3 things from them: 1 - we are sniffing around for a 10 for next season 2 - painfully obvious...

Re: Ulster's finances

Is the average ticket price not a bit more expensive for Ravenhill than for Thomond or the horse arena?

Re: Ulster's finances

I feel McFarland is a good coach? But perhaps not the best manager. He realised we have dogshit players, so perhaps felt the need to tighten the game plan up. He’d be a better coach with a team of internationals like Munster or Leinster, instead of a side full of thin skinned losers that currently m...

Re: Ulster's finances

https://www.the42.ie/irfu-national-contracts-6359757-Apr2024/ You have to scroll it down slowly to read the article but it can be done. Explains the funding system pretty well. Ultimately Leinster have weaponised their natural advantages brilliantly. A couple of things are very clear: The privately...

Re: The run in

Can’t see Benetton getting 10 points out of those fixtures if they aren’t winning this weekend at Ravenhill.

Sharks away with their springbok forwards would start as favourites.

And with Munster away and Leinster at home to come. + essentially the Italian national side this week.

We’re in deep doo doo.💩

Ulsters biggest issue is that for the 2nd season in a row, our backs don’t seem to be able to create a linebreak or finish tries.
