I believe that this picture from the front of the Irish Times sports section today shows conclusively that it was not a clash of heads but rather Cane's shoulder hitting Henshaw's face

It looks head to head but in my view it was his leading shoulder that impacted with the left side of Henshaw's jaw.
The fact that Cane emerged totally unscathed supports that.

I am no expert on perspective but I thought the second last pass was the more obviously forward for the final try
