Re: Ulster Vs Harlequins Sat 7th Dec @ 15.15 BT Sport

Gilroy looks like he needs some game time - he’s been out for a long while and a Euro game comeback, with a misfiring backline isn’t probably the easiest way back. I’d get RB on at 14 ideally - he has the pace to deal with itoye. LL for me at 15, JS on the left. To be honest, I think Gilroy is a be...

Re: Ulster v Clermont

It's a real shame Hume injured himself when he did as surely he'd be pushing McCloskey right now.

Re: Bath v Ulster

Unbelievable negativity from some of you on this board right now. Firstly, you continue to punish UR for things over which they had no control. Ryan Pienaar was kicked out by Nucifora, not by Ulster. It was Ulster, on the other hand, who signed John Cooney and he has proven to be a very good replac...

Re: Munster v Ulster Sat 5:15pm

Not one Ulster born player in the forwards. I couldn’t name a potential Ulster born pack that could stand a chance in a professional game. But yes at least one would be a nod. The system can produce a decent backline, so much so the FIRFU thought we had too big for our boots and got rid of 2, but r...

Re: Ulster v Zebre MoTM

Shanahan ain't much like Marshall, hardly has a decent break on him at all, much better support lines though of course is very good at reading where the ball is going.

Re: Celtic Cup 2019/20

Graham Curtis, Zack McCall and Marcus Rea look good prospects Love to see some of these lads play in the top level od AIL rugby. 1A is a serious league now. Hope that Hinch can stay up and consolidate. It is good for Ulster to have a team at this level, the Dublin teams, Cork and Limerick dominate....

Re: Celtic Cup 2019/20

Rea's a funny one, has these games but has never consistently impressed me to think that he's a top prospect. Think his brother's still the pick of the two.

Re: Celtic Cup 2019/20

Doak preferred over Stewart is interesting They've kept continuity with the team over the span of the competition, for instance we probably could have had Johnston involved over Houston. Then Stewart really hasn't kicked on as a player and they do seem to rate Doak (rather than invest time in a pla...

Re: Any word on the Academy?

That's a shame, Egan looks as good a prospect at TH as we've had in a long while, more rounded than O'Toole for my money. Big shout, I personally can’t see it. From what I've seen of him in representative sides he's a big carrier and very solid in the scrum. Thought out of the Ulster u19 front row ...

Re: Pre Season Friendlies 2019/20

There looks to be a decent blend of experience and styles of play. I think the emergence and impact of Bobby B was a massive plus from last season. Have we any idea what’s wrong with him? Only one of those backs is durable as such so we may need the numbers, although one or two of the lads will ine...

Ruan, Paddy and Wee Stu.
And in terms of players actually relevant to Ulster, Baloucoune.

Re: Any word on the Academy?

Sure seems like Ethan McIlroy looks likely to join the academy after preseason, much like Kernohan last year. I wonder if Ben Power may join him or one if Claytan Milligan, Paul Mullen, Conor McMenamin or Lewis Finlay have done enough. Well Power kept getting starts for the As so If say he has the ...
