Re: Petries Answering Questions
Do you feel Ulster are approaching next season with a stronger squad than this season and if so, where do you feel the improvements are?

Re: URC 2022/23 - Other Sides
It would be interesting to see how many Ulster players have filtered out of the recognition for RWC since the end of the regular season. I’d read a 45 man training squad is due to be announced this week and realistically, I can’t see any more than Herring, Stewart, O’Toole, Henderson, McCloskey and ...

Re: Heineken Cup Final Venue 2022/23
I must admit I am taking a rather perverse sense of enjoyment in how ROG seems to be living rent free over on the babbling Brook forum. For a set of supporters who routinely point out how obsessed munster fans seem to be about beating leinster, they haven't half fallen for some good old fashioned t...

Re: Heineken Cup Final Venue 2022/23
Summary of posts on Leinster a fan forum Our scrum was roasted We need more props Kicking was rubbish Couldn't change tactics Ignored drop goal opportunities Referee was biased You would think they could make up their own excuses instead of using ours! Heaslip has also seemingly blamed the URC for ...

Re: Where do we go from here?
Baggy is right. In the circumstances, aiming for 2nd / achieving 2nd is as good as we are going to get. But playing like last week , we will be lucky to finish in Top 8 ( and this end of season anyway as we have away we against top 4 etc) What was most disappointing was the lack of "fight"...

Re: Ulster v Connacht
So many issues in the game came down to one thing: Mindset, those players took the pitch totally in the wrong headspace for a knockout inter pro…..how that was allowed to happen was a disgrace. They lacked aggression, focus, accuracy, cohesion….because they weren’t in the right headspace. For an ho...

Re: Ulster v Connacht
Friend used some of his post match interview to support McFarland but one quote that stood out for me is below. He must have been licking his lips after that coffee if McFarland brought that up as it shows he didn’t want to embrace being favourites. On one hand we can’t compete with Leinster because...

Re: Ulster v Connacht
Gutted doesn't cover it. The intensity of the last 5- 10 mins - where was that earlier in the game. All the bon homie- jacob at the start, leaving at the end- it's not a fecking carnival. Game head on, kill dead things, then do social media tom kite another day, not during a knock out. Tell you wha...

Re: Ulster v Connacht
Not if Sharks win the URC. Correct me if I'm wrong Neil By the book you are correct. One step closer then 🫡. The sharks are so far away from winning it it is basically there. Suspect it will be confirmed next week. The Sharks are an enigma- very good squad poorly motivated and managed Question, do ...

Re: Ulster v Dragons Fri April 14 7:35pm
O'Toole with crutches at the sideline. Did people see what happened? It happened when he was trying to charge down a box kick. No contact at all with anyone or anything but the pitch. Very similar to Martinez for Man Utd last night who was running with the ball before going down with what has subse...

Re: A new low…?
https://ulster.rugby/content/ulster-rugby-builds-on-player-pathway-for-next-generation-of-ulster-players I don't know much about these things. How much of what is in this link is new and how much has been going on for ages? On that question I’d be particularly interested in the point below: ‘Integr...

Re: Leinster VS Ulster HC QF 01/04/23
So that's two Leinster trys disallowed and Hume's yella rescinded so far. We've almost got this won. Murray Kinsella posted a clip of this line out in lead up to Baird’s try and a few replies are questioning the legality of Leinster’s actions so that’s another try ruled out  https://twit...

Re: A new low…?
Numbers is an issue but what we do with the numbers we do have is another issue, particularly in the forwards. As an example McCann was captain of the same under-20s team as Cian Prendergast. I know captaincy isn’t a sign that he was a better player but given Prendergast didn’t get in to the Leinste...

Re: 6 Nations 2023
To be fair what can Genge really come out and say?….they were embarrassed, record score, at home, physically smashed, totally outplayed, tactically out thought, dreadful attack, poor basic skills. The coaching was massively shown up too. It was shocking on all levels. Everyone associated with that ...

Re: 6 Nations 2023
2 Ulster hookers and treadwell in the match day squad next week? Be surprised if any of the 5? Irish injured feature in 6 days time. Good opportunity for a bit of English redemption for Stu. He deserves a start at 12 but it wouldn’t surprise me to hear ‘Stu’s trained well during the week as have Bu...
