Re: Stuart McCloskey

There was an interesting point by Three Red Kings (Munster fan) on Twitter where he said that Ireland are geared towards the Leinster playing style and players who know the Leinster system will ultimately be favoured in selections for that reason. The Leinster bias is not a new opinion but from what...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday June 11 2pm UK Time Premier Sports / RTE / URC TV / Super Sport

In his post-match comments McFarland has stated "We played against red cards before and it's galvanising for the team with 14 [men]," There’s an element of truth in that but equally, you’d be hard pressed to find a worse team in the league than Ulster when it comes to taking advantage of a...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday June 11 2pm UK Time Premier Sports / RTE / URC TV / Super Sport

Quote of the match from Adamson, 'I didn’t see what happened. I don’t want to see it again.' He was terrible. At least he was terrrible for both sides. In competition with Whitehouse who said a variation of ‘there’s a tip above the horizontal but no foul play…it’s in the ruck so nothing to worry ab...

Re: Stormers v Ulster Saturday June 11 2pm UK Time Premier Sports / RTE / URC TV / Super Sport

There may be an element of confirmation bias but we were 15-10 up with a penalty in the second half which was subsequently knocked on when Herring broke from the Mail…how many other teams go for the corner in that scenario and how many leave the red zone 18-10 up?

Re: Nursing a semi

will we actually know the answer of the final location before todays match kicks off? or maybe we shouldn't? ps put fifty or so into each corporate box and we could easily get over 18,500!! Confirmed by URC Head of Comms that winner of Ulster vs Stormers will host the final. https://twitter.com/ada...

Re: Ulster v Munster Friday June 3 7:35pm KO Premier Sports 2 / TG4 / URC TV / Supersport

Ulster coach Dan McFarland says Marty Moore won't play again this season after suffering 'a couple of concussions'. Medical advice is that he's stood down for a period. Mike Lowry not being ruled out of the Munster game at this point after suffering facial injuries against the Sharks. Via Ruaidhri O...

I assume this means another lengthy lay off for Jack McGrath. Not looking great across both sides of the scrum in terms of squad depth for the coming season.

Re: Ulster v Munster Friday April 22 7:35pm KO BBC2NI / RTE2 / Premier Sports 2 / URC TV / Super Sport

A big part of our problem is mentality. We don't have the killer instinct. You get the impression that lads were feeling a bit sorry for themselves after last week, tough match, bit tired after SA etc. We should have been going out against Munster and proving a point. We lost in Europe, but the lea...

Re: Ulster v Munster Friday April 22 7:35pm KO BBC2NI / RTE2 / Premier Sports 2 / URC TV / Super Sport

I didn’t judge Ulster’s season and ability to compete for trophies based on the exit last week where I thought it was an overall good performance beaten by a top class team, in a game which could have went either way. Should Ulster lose tonight and end up in an away QF or SF and losing I feel it’s f...

Re: Ulster v Munster Friday April 22 7:35pm KO BBC2NI / RTE2 / Premier Sports 2 / URC TV / Super Sport

It feels to me like Burns has started all bar a few and I am not sure if anyone else has even had 2 consecutive starts at 10 this season. I think you're right Bart although my feeling is that no one else has been trusted to start because no one else is good enough in training to convince Dan that t...

Treadwell likely to be on the bench at the weekend with Ryan and Baird both injured. Moloney and McCarthy called up from Leinster as replacements.

https://twitter.com/murray_kinsella/status/1492105161078190080?s=21 Above tweet was from weekend of French game - Lowry, Hume and Timoney all travelled to France so can see them all going across on Saturday as I think the squad is pretty much like for like with exception of Lowe in for Hansen. Re: 6 nations 22

Some ferocious match. Thank goodness Atonio plays for La Rochelle. He certainly showed up Andrew Porter very badly in the first half. Question for the micro-analysts: when looking back at the three stand-out moments of Hugo Keenan activity in the match 1. kicking the ball off the end of the pitch 2...

Re: Northampton 16th Jan

How did Marcus Rea do today? Couldn't really tell from where I was in the ground. More big game experience for him and confidence shown in him anyway I guess. He was solid. Wasn’t able to capitalise on his groundhog skills much but did well. I have big hopes for him. The back row of Rea, Timoney an...
