Re: Luke retiring at the end of the season

If it wasn't for injuries I think he'd have a long list of Ireland caps.

I didn't get to see this.

Can I get the no-BS assessment on Doak? Are we in big trouble next year?

Re: Contract Situation

Surprised at Wilson only getting a development deal. The way our squad looks he's likely to be a very regular fixture in the senior team.

Lads I know we're a bit of a joke but there is no chance whatsoever we will be paying a cent of his wages if he's playing for the Stormers next season.

We're bad but we're not that bad ffs.

Re: Petrie departs…..

I'd rather have this guy than have Cunningham get promoted.

At least he's a fresh face around the place.

Re: Petrie departs…..

"As of mid-April in the 2022-23 season [i.e. near the end of it], they had 16 players who had played less than 200 mins. As I wrote at the time: "They have paid three outhalves [Madigan, Flannery and Curtis] for the entire season to play 310 mins, less than four full matches. They have pa...

Re: Petrie departs…..

In all seriousness, Bryn Cunningham has been part of the management at Ulster for 10 years. Is he genuinely not part of the problem, or is he likely to be following Petrie out the door? I think I have a hard time believing that Cunningham has just been hamstrung by the various coaches and the two CE...

Re: Sharks v Ulster Saturday 23rd March 1pm Kick Off Viaplay Sports

I think unfortunately due to the nature of the URC we are overly reliant on Champions Cup rugby for income. I know people say we can drop down to the Challenge Cup and that's probably closer to our level, and I agree from a rugby point of view, but I am not so sure we can afford it financially.

Re: Contract Situation

So it sounds like Ulster went back to Bayonne at the last minute asking for greater compo. I'm delighted he's staying, but this is a mess. What this is basically saying is that until this week McCloskey had it in his head that he was going, and now the rug has been pulled. I'd never doubt McCloskey'...

Re: The skipper

I'm totally undecided on Hume either way at this point, will see how he goes over the next while. But I do have a personal preference for the captain to be a forward rather than a back. Forwards tend to be closer to the ref during the game, they're more likely to be spotting nonsense at the ruck and...
