Setanta Ireland on Sky in GB

Post by mikerob »

Setanta Ireland has been removed from the Sky Electronic Program Guide for subscribers in GB however you CAN view Setanta Ireland by doing the following (based upon Sky+ HD menus):

Services > Options > Add Chnls

Frequency (GHz) > 11.585
Polarisation > H
Ignore the other two settings
Find Channels (Yellow button)
Select Setanta Ireland
Store Channel (Yellow button)

Setanta Ireland should now be visible under Services > Options > Other CH

I haven't figured out yet how to program recordings for the Channels that appear under "Other CH" as they don't appear to have a channel number like the other channels in the EPG.

This does work for ML games on Setanta Ireland - I watched Edinburgh v Munster on Friday.

I was a subscriber to Setanta so I don't know if it only works for former subscribers or for everyone.

I don't know if Setanta 1 is available - only know details for Setanta Ireland.

Sky+ functions like recording and pause don't work - basically because Setanta has been removed from the Sky EPG as it costs about £100k a year but the channel is still being broadcast from the satellite.

11488.00MHz, pol.V (DVB-S SR:27500 FEC:2/3 SID:54065 PID:2315/2316
But I tell you it won't work without a subscription.

Yup - I can't see it... right now Setanta 1 is showing the Ulster v Leinster game again... however I could watch the game when it was shown on Setanta Ireland at midnight.
