Perhaps one should stay clear of this one as one only got 161 out of 400 in English way back in the days well before GCSE and A levels. However, it never stopped me from expressing an opinion previously.
Fans Forum as in forum for fans rather than forum owned by fans would seem OK to me.

The problem with saying anything about grammar is you set yourself up for a fall as everyone makes a mistake eventually.

Re: English Grammar. Downfall of the Apostrophe.
A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the other patrons.
'Why?' asks the confused, surviving waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.
'Well, I'm a panda', he says, at the door. 'Look it up.'
The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an explanation. 'Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves.'

That's very true GerryO. I've set myself up for an almighty fall in the future.GerryO' wrote:The problem with saying anything about grammar is you set yourself up for a fall as everyone makes a mistake eventually.
However, if they all end up laughing at me then at least they're leaving some other poor sod alone

My comment was a general one, not just about you. I've been caught out a few times especially as my spelling is bad and there's no checker on this site.

Thanks, but that's too much like hard work. I'll just continue to make mistakes and claim they are Ulster Scots.Rooster wrote:Gerry if you use Firefox there is a useful dictionary which can be found in the add ons.

After its downfall does the apostrophe fall into a comma?
