'Bad referer'

Post by The Towse »

Tried to enter the competition of the month, but after completing all the sections and the password, I got an error stating 'Bad referrer'

Any ideas as to why this was?

And as you can only enter the competition once, has my entry been received, or can I try again?

Thanks

Try it again and if it kicks you out it has probably gone through, post back your findings and it can be taken from there.
I was kicked out of Irish Times site for ages this morning with the same error so it may be some sort f net problem

Thanks for the prompt response.
I tried againg and same thing happened.
The first time I left a space between the two words in the password, the second time no space left, but same result.
Hopefully I won't be disqualified by submitting 2 entries!

No wont be disqualified will get fermain to contact you by pm to sort out.
It is working as I entered to try it when I read your post.
Getting the 2 words wrong will not bring up that error just another chance to try will appear, if you think you cannot read the captcha writing hit the little refresh circle/arrow and get a different set of words as many times as you need to read it, it's only there to stop the spam merchants trying to sell stuff.

towse, your entry has not yet been received. Not sure why the error occurs, it seems that about 1 in 100 emailed forms throw this up. Please try again.

Tried again, again, again, and then again some more times!
Even tried a reboot
And the audio password (but couldn't really hear them!)
But still no joy.

From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Was not going to enter but did so to aid the 'test'.

All went fine and I got the acknowledgement screen.

Are you accessing the site in the normal web browser/PC/Mac way?

Must be a problem with my laptop.
Logged on from my PC and successfully entered.
After all that, just hope I win!
