Re: Favourite try
Anybody remember a try by David Humphreys around ten years ago when we were awarded a penalty on the touchline around the 22? He went through the routine of setting up the ball but, when the opposition had all gone over to the posts, he picked up the ball and sprinted in for a try. I assume he may have warned the ref, who had not signalled for the shot at goal.
Or am I just dreaming?

I remember Neil Jenkins doing that for Wales against Fiji but further back.... maybe 20 years ago.solidarity wrote:Anybody remember a try by David Humphreys around ten years ago when we were awarded a penalty on the touchline around the 22? The veteran made amends shortly after the restart when, after shaping to take a penalty, Irish turned their backs and Humphreys tapped the ball and dashed over in the corner. He then made the conversion.

Neil McMillan scored, he was great until injury got the better of him.UlsterNo9 wrote:Correct 2006joyfulrodger wrote:London Irish at home in the Heineken cup I thinksolidarity wrote:Anybody remember a try by David Humphreys around ten years ago when we were awarded a penalty on the touchline around the 22? And Michael Lynagh on punditry duty criticised him for unsportsmanlike conduct, whereupon Sky dug up footage of him doing the exact same thing.

Trimble really was incredible. Remember his two against Toulouse back in the day as well.

I wonder did Anthony Allen think he was in for a try right before 1F wiped him out...
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Volunteer at an animal sanctuary; it will fill you with joy , despair, but most of all love, unconditional love of the animals.

Re: Favourite try
He sure was, remember another back row David Pollock also lost his battle with injury. In a parallel universe both would have had long careers with Ulster.joyfulrodger wrote:Neil McMillan scored, he was great until injury got the better of him.

Pollock would have been a Lion for sure.

Jeez Big Pedrie was some player.
The commentators were using adjectives in relation to our forward play that I haven't heard in many a day.

I don't know how anyone can make a highlight reel of that match without including the conversation where Poite asks Murphy if he's enjoying himself.mid ulster maestro wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fISjdnzDHUY
