What I saw of Ospreys and Cardiff was poor.

Went to the game, a lot closer than the score shows, pity the fans didn’t turn up

Graham Curtis, Zack McCall and Marcus Rea look good prospects
Nevin Spence 26 April 1990 – 15 September 2012 gone but never forgotten

Rea stood out in that game at Bedford Blues 18 month ago.

We had EOS and TOT on the bench for that!

Rea's a funny one, has these games but has never consistently impressed me to think that he's a top prospect. Think his brother's still the pick of the two.

Love to see some of these lads play in the top level od AIL rugby. 1A is a serious league now. Hope that Hinch can stay up and consolidate. It is good for Ulster to have a team at this level, the Dublin teams, Cork and Limerick dominate.

Hinch'll need to win a game first.

I will note though, it's not an academy scrumhalf starting for what is meant to be the top club in Ulster.

Just looked at the UR page with team info. https://www.ulsterrugby.com/2019/12/uls ... t-hit-out/
They give the team in prose, then as a list. Gives the impression that no-one at UR cares much about this game.

Ulster A won 33-29. 5 tries. All the detail I could get from Connacht twitter feed. Nothing on Ulster's.

The Ulster A team has been named to face Leinster A in a challenge game at CIYMS RFC on Friday 17th January, kick off 6pm.

In the back three, Conor Rankin starts at full-back alongside Ben Moxham and Luke Pollock on the wings. Ben Power and Stewart Moore make up the centre pairing. Bruce Houston has been selected at fly-half and Lewis Finlay takes the starting scrum-half position.

Brothers Kyle and Zack McCall start together in the tighthead prop and hooker positions respectively and are joined in the front row by Callum Reid on the loosehead side. In the engine room, Matthew Dalton and Jack Regan make up the second row pairing. Joe Dunleavy and Marcus Rea take the blindside and openside flanker starting berths, and Azur Allison will captain the side from the base of the pack at number eight. On the extended bench, Tom Stewart, Adam Hanna, Peter Cooper, Conor McMenamin, Matthew Agnew, and Jack Milton are the forward reinforcements, while Conor McKee, Gregg Hutley, Ethan McIlroy and Andy Bryans provide the back line cover.

There are a couple in that team i've high hopes for, though not too familiar with a lot of them

Interesting that after putting in such a big performance against Leinster a couple of weeks back thay McIlroy is benching behind Rankin, who i haven't seen much of. Think the two of them are in a straight shoot out for the 15 jersey in the Ireland U20 6 nations squad.
