Best to gave Paddy Wallace a rest and gave Luke a start at 12.

Would like to see Cochrane get a start in a stronger side to show his worth.

Ricky Andrew did well last week. With him now having a couple of games in recent weeks at 15 you can see him grow in confidence.

Paddy Wallace shouldn't be risked while we have Skymarshall available. Give him the week off and have him back ready for Glasgow.

If we lose Trimble to Ireland then Cochrane will probably start next week. This week it has to be Trimble and Allen starting - our two best available wingers right now.

I would like to see a genuine finisher starting and for me that is Cochrane.

I haven't seen anything from Cochrane that would suggest he is a better finisher than Allen or Trimble.

Mainly due to Cochrane not being involved as much as Allen.

Every time I see Cochrane play for the Ravens/Gannon he pops up with a try. Granted Rabo is a higher standard than Ravens but he is a natural born finisher and with a run of games like Allen has had,I feel Cochrane could have more to offer in the long term.
Allen can cover centre and wing which Cochrane can't which is something that is maybe hampering his chances.

To be honest I'm yet to be sold on Allen. Don't get me wrong he has progressed more than I thought.

Defensively he has impressed me at times but there are lapses still which he will iron out with more experience.

Going forward he stills turns his hips in contact and goes to ground to easily even though his feet are excellent.

He kicks too much rather than hold on to possession (a few kicks have come off,one stands out with Payne earlier in the season).

Both can offer Ulster something different.

I would like to see Cochrane get a couple of starts, hopefully starting this Friday.

To be fair I'm not much for the so and so must play. What I want is 15 Ulstermen standing tall and saying to MAAAKKK this is my position my shirt :fleg: . To many last week didn't look like they really cared.

Was there any truth in the rumour earlier in the season that Cochrane was off to Gal way?

Ruckus I cite the case of COCHRANE at RDS Christmas a year ago when McGlock sent the nippers down to get tanked. Not only did CC score a quality try but it was a try where he needed plenty of fight to get over.

I too would like to see what he can do in a stronger team and this week seems ideal given the opposition. If he is selected I'd back him to score given half a chance. My suspicion is that he may be a more out and out finisher than Allen who has done well and appears more versatile.

Just one ould lads opinion.

The usual hoary gnarled ould lads in the pack, many nudging closer to the pension game by game.

Doubtless they will hang in there as long as Ulster deign to keep them in a contest, let's hope we don't bother with the "nice to meet you after you Claude" easy ohsy first 30 minute borefests we have specialised in of late or pishboilers as I like to call them.

Rip their throats out early and see how much they want the game thereafter is what I hope to see but have no great expectation of seeing.

Cochrane will get his chance vs Glasgow when we lose Trimble. Right now I can't see any justification in dropping Allen when I don't think he's done much wrong.

I was criticised during the AIs when I suggested trying out a few young guys because some claimed we were already weakened enough without resting players, yet now when I suggest playing our strongest side I am criticised because we should give Cochrane a chance? I can't win on here...

Is it weakening your team choosing Cochrane ahead of Allen? I'm not so sure.

I agree Allen has done nothing wrong but would like to see how Cochrane would go with a strong side around him if that is what MA picks.
