Do you need a contract to play for Ulster?

I'll rephrase

If p decided he wanted to be a god man as UR wont give him a new contract, can they in times of national emergency pick him to play?

They can play him on licence in PRO12 matches, but why would they after he had gone ?

Last think I heard Thompson and others were being given 3 months into the next season for Gibbes to have a look at them.

Why would they want to?

Don't listen to the UR plants on here. He causes major catastrophic events on the pitch when he plays.

That would be sensible if true, but also a frank admission the director of rugby hasn't a clue.

Diack was secretly given a new contract and it begs the question why... maybe they don't want to scare off season ticket sales but I did say back then.

Our SID next year will be worse than this year with an even bigger golf between first XV and fillers and given our injury habits it will hit us harder than this... we're fecked rocky and I ain't even waiting until the twelfth fortnight to predict that.

Does anyone actually think giving diack another contract is a bad thing? He is never going to be top class, but you need guys like him in a squad.

That would be in line with my thoughts, squad player, not much more though occasionally gives a hint he should be better.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

You could say he is our very own Dom Ryan.

Diack is a player who frustrates me. He looks like he could do the job, but more often than not he does feck-all. Do we expect Gibbes to make a player out of him as well?
