When something misfires in the line out, we seem to be too slow to try something different. Shortening it could have been a good option.UlsterNo9 wrote:It does though beg the question what the feck was causing the lineout shambles?
Lifters?
Throwing?
Timing?
Why did we not revert to shortened lineouts?
My own two cents..... it was a shambles before and after we changed personnel. That would lead me to believe Gibbes is instructing something new at lineout time which may take a while to get right.

100% Dave but we have always been slow to adapt. We don't play percentage rugby well. If its fubar, flat and hard to 2 and rumble infield for position.works almost every time and virtually impossible for opposition jumper to get in front.
Another boil my pish moment is we rarely compete on opposition ball, even if in a "safe" field position.

[Is that second last picture, Deysel stealing Arno's contract?]
The Blue jumper is Dewald Potgieter. A tough grafter who made the most of his talent in a crowded Bulls third row.
Arnie was destined by some in Pretoria to become the new Pierre Spies. Behind all the injuries he was simply over hyped. Without acceleration he lacked the girth power to make yards in close contact. Very lucky to have gotten capped by the Boks.
By contrast Deysel will make yards, even in the low box gear.
