The former forwards coach.
Some of our former forwards were in need of it.
Jonno is now fully in his head coaching role.

Good, somebody needs to be coaching the heads, I think too often they don't have their heads on the right way around. Not helped by a DOR who does not seem to feel that every game must be approached as a must-win game, that's not a proper culture to invest in.

By the way, I was watching the aftermath of the Mexican game and Cullen responding to a question from Paul Wallace which mentioned Willie Anderson's methods when they were both playing for Mexico. Cullen responded with a laugh before name-checking lots of coaches who had had a defensive influence on the club............... including a certain Andy Farrell.

I'm assuming that only prime provinces like Mustard & Linseed are able to call on Farrell for assistance.

Baggy are you sure it was not about attack and continuity , not defence?

I messed up recording the match. Anyone got a link to somewhere where I can bask in the glory again?

Aye you are right Kofi, didn't I tell you I'm on my deathbed? Still, the point remains, have we sought his help given our appalling defence this season?

Have just watched the first half again, what strikes me is that somebody clearly told McCloskey he needs to look after the ball and sacrifice a metre or two that he could make, 4/5 times you see him making sure he hangs onto possession waiting for support rather than busting his hole to make the last possible metre.

Assuming somebody did tell him to do that, well done that man. :thumleft:

The other notable thing is how good O'Connor, Timoney & Rea did in particular. Timoney might have been in trouble had that wee shyte Patterson been TMO for Rory's try, he did a manful job.

21 minutes to kick into life, helped by the yella card, started by a great turnover from Rory & kick and chase from Cooney.

Got to love Cooney, classic scrumhalf, niggling anyone who came close.

Re-watched the game in frog:

They called Piutau, Pewtoe
Their army looks a right laugh
They don't say formidable until the second half incase you are hoping for it
Hendo is simply the best forward on earth
Timoney is undroppable
The only decent scrum was with McCall and Kane but it still wasn't great
The scrum is a shambles
The lineout has been sorted by using clever counterfoil and subterfuge
Ludik's tackling is sexy
Stockdale and Larmour will boss the 6N
Jonno is a god

What we lost in the scrum we made up for in open play, they couldn't get around the park quick enough. The work rate in their 2nd row was nowhere compared to our own around the park.

Agreed. Our pack outplayed theirs and to be quite honest their backs were pretty average.

Do they say "Zut alors"? If not, I'm out.

I might reconsider if "coupe de l'école" gets a mention.
