The King is dead. Long live the King.
Re: Mark McCall anybody?
Venter would be a good signing, as for McGlocks give him the Academy, when in charge of the 1st team he only played the same 15 and flogged them till near death....

In his defence, we only had about 17 good players at that time.

Well lets see he was charged for starting a fight, doesnt give interviews, turned the sharks into a leaky cauldron in defence where players where climbing over each other to leave....kingofthehill wrote:Brendan Venter anyone?

Re: Mark McCall anybody?
McCall won't be back when the same people involved in his appalling treatment here still sit in committee rooms. What we need is ulstermen in charge men with bite, men who won't bend over to the amateurs who think that they run the professional game. So there has to be a complete break from the club game and the amateur game management , but on the other hand we need the clubs and schools to develop players for our future .
Ulster Pro Game:
Bryn as CEO, runs the pro game with a board but minus the school teachers and accountants , real business people not some gin soaked ex president who thinks that because he has experience as a volunteer committee man for 20 years he can now give direction to the pro game, those days are gone and a drain on finances .
WIllie Anderson: director of rugby, just rugby, put his plan in place and get the coaches to coach.
Justin Fitzpatrich or Davidson : towards coach
Campbell: backs coach
Wait they are all ex London Irish and Dungannon men, so why not I would say they trust each other and bleed Ulster.
Amateur game: get rid of the AIL, we cannot financially compete with Dublin, get the academy boys playing in your face Ulster league, a bit of bashing and in the mud rugby. Have an Ulster senior league were it coaches are not an old kiwi who knows it all, get explayers in to learn the hard way, not retiring from injury and boom your now a pro coach, that's were its going wrong, get out to the clubs help them, make them somewhere yo want to go to, look at the lowest of lowest GAA club, best of pitch , best of clubs, best of gyms, then look at Armoy, Ophir , Malone (pitch , but they are making massive changes themselves) club rugby is no longer attractive and the people looking at how to resurrect it couldn't give paddy a stiffy with a bottle of viagra and Sam Fox spread eagle.
Any review needs the club game looked at by professionals , clubs invested in and players given a pathway through the clubs, IDENTITY is what is missing.

Bryn, if your reading this, in the review, get rid of the amateurs running to pro game, yes in the past that was suffice, time to have a a committee of professionals running the show , not old men, old ideas and clinging to their silly little power position. We are in free fall this was mentioned years ago and has been ignored. now we are were we are due to our amateurs.

Willie Anderson, 15 years to late, not Willies fault, certain Committee men kept him out, now its maybe to late and those same people have all the say. Snapper is right. the people with the power have to go. unfortunately that will never happen and they have equally as poor replacements in the waiting.

Re: Mark McCall anybody?
This wasn't in a direct reference to Willie. Neither Kiss nor Gibbes had direct experience of the roles they were asked to perform. I'd be happy enough with Willie. He is a distant relation through marriage.Kofi Annan wrote:What willie has none ?Dave wrote:Any chance of hiring someone with some experience?

Willie Anderson is still living off his embarrassment of a stint at London Irish and his role at Scotland. Massive chip on his shoulder, what has he actually done as a coach success wise...win numerous club competitions with pretty much half the Ulster team in his side at Dungannon. Need fresh young blood in, with new ideas
