It seems pure cover for an area of concern and injuries. It also could be that he is wanting a better contract and is willing to showcase himself to get a longer deal (either here or elsewhere). We could have doubts about his fitness in the long term as well. Lots of reasons that he would be signed.

First class cover. Couldn't be better. Hopefully by the end of the year Ludo and Marshall might be at full fitness or close. If he likes it here he may well sign a longer contract after the World Cup[

And gives us 3/4 months to weigh up whether he would be a useful signing or not post world cup.

He has beautiful hair.

He picked up an ankle injury in the last match of the 2018 season, but has been medically cleared to play before the Guinness PRO14 kicks off.

Time & tides wait for no man, who knows, in many moons I could be proved wrong however:

This is a one-off Temporary Injury Replacement to cover an area of need for 4 months. He then goes back to Super Rugby, probably never to darken the doorstep of Ravenhill again. Why would we need him long term? There are considerably more pressing areas that we are exposed in.

You see all this business simply requires a little thought, it's not complicated, however, any time you struggle to understand anything, feel free to ask, you can even PM me if you would be embarrassed to ask in public lest you be thought a 49er or a Smallmind .........sorry, small world.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Just seen on twitter someone noting that they heard at weekend that:

“Stockdale pulled a hamstring and might be out for 6-8 weeks.”

Bad luck if true.

Not that we would have seen much of him anyway!

I love the line that McPhilips only got good because Christian came here. So we are signing experienced players instead of coaches to bring the young lads through?

That would be start of October then and doubt that he would appear before that anyway.

Henry will be straight into the team. He and Gilroy on the wings and Will Addison at 15?

Have we a nickname for Henry Speight yet?

Ulster fro and fro?
