He has not been cited specifically for taking someone out in the air.

Guilty!
Interesting. He can be banned under the citing without the ref being shown to be in error. Clever move by the Pro 14 in the wording of the citing.

Interesting to see whether they will say the ref got it wrong and it was a red or they back the ref’s judgement.

I still think it was a yellow, as the Munster lad landed on his back/shoulder rather than his head/neck.
I think shoulder/head/neck would be red territory. Back/side is yellow I believe. Although the Scots will manufacture something just to feel important.
Surely it's also the nature of the tackle? Are you saying that if you clothesline somebody in mid air, and they land on their feet and saunter off it's only a yella? Baloucoune's effort was reckless and dangerous rather than just careless.
Clothes line would also be a high tackle. If anything Rob was far too low Image

Don't know how you can come to that conclusion. If they ban him, they are effectively saying the ref was wrong and should have given a red card at the time for "doing something that was reckless or dangerous" to Sweetnam. The ref did have the benefit of video replay and should have reached the right decision. In order to back the ref, they have to conclude that a yellow card was sufficient punishment.

I presume the referee will have given his reasoning in his report, and may be called to defend that. I wonder though if the refereeing assessor considered him to be wrong in only giving yellow?

I note that Balacoune etc don't have to travel to Embra as the Disciplinary Panel will be held via video conference.

Doesn't need a new suit then, just appear presentable from the waist up if they're careful with the camera.

The Panel will comprise of Robert Milligan (Chair), Kathrine Mackie and Jennifer Rae (All Scotland).

I thought you couldn't be cited for something that was spotted and dealt with at the time by the 4 officials?

If they ban Rory Best for 6 weeks, it will prove once and for all what Scottish panels are!

Ahh, from the waist up ... You can’t hide your lying eyes.”, but no point in wearing the new kilt which Satan brought him for that pagan thingy that goes on around this time. He could use his iPhone and stand on the corner in Winslow like some New Kid in Town. The Jocks will Take him to the Limit.
