Re: Ulster v Leinster Sat Apr 27th 5:15pm
Nelson at 12 is an interesting call it is in fact possibly the first time Ulster have gone out with 3 outhalfs on the pitch .
Maybe there could be a very fluid back line .
Leinster ‘s backline has the look of yesterday’s hero’s .
But to some extent the fact that both sides have fielded « dog dinner » teams means neither can be accused of throwing the game .
But also means many of the internationals will be available for games which they might have missed otherwise — not there are that many games left in the season .

Apparently it's game day.

Quite a good few Leinster fans are travelling up for the fun and crack.
It's time to say goodbye to Jack McGrath for us as he will hardly play in the more serious stuff coming up.
Nothing turns on this match so it's nice to have an old fashioned friendly.
Let's hope there is plenty of rugby and the ball gets flashed around.

Unsure what it is doing in the Ravenhill microclimate but the weather where I am is not lending itself to throwing the ball around.

The liars tell us it’ll clear up late in the afternoon, but right now the Night King, with his army of the dead, is gazing down on East Belfast from atop the Castlereagh Hills.

Not bad here, bit breezy but weather not nearly as bad as reported, and no rain since WednesdayUlsterNo9 wrote:Unsure what it is doing in the Ravenhill microclimate but the weather where I am is not lending itself to throwing the ball around.

According to rum's wet ball theorem, it will be a shyte game.UlsterNo9 wrote:Unsure what it is doing in the Ravenhill microclimate but the weather where I am is not lending itself to throwing the ball around.

Too wet for a fair weather supporter like me. I'll watch this one on Ceefax.

1st day of the local cricket season ... but that'll have to wait until next week.
Ravenspan it is then.
Rain would be nice next weekend too, to remove any possible choice between attending Ravers or sitting in the scorehut recording runs scored, wickets taken etc.

"Watched" many a match on Ceefax back in the day.

Rum’s law of wet rugby is that it favours the defender rather than the attacker
Given the look of the backlines I make Leinster favorites as Ulster forwards don’t have a strong reputation within 10 metres of the goal line ball in hand
