Cockatrice wrote:browner - presumably that is something that only the membership of the club can decide. Yes both parties would serve each other best by having a partnership that works for all.

Progress has and may continue to be slow but there is now an opportunity for supporters to join together and begin to form a proper club. There have I felt been times when the URSC has been treated just as an independant club might expect having to scrap for everything and I suspect that this comes from suspicion on both sides.
I was wondering what mechanism there is for the members to decide if they want to be an independant supporters club.

I also agree with a lot of what Cables said in his earlier post which was clearly asking for transparency in how the supporters club operates. Transparency in how a club is run is particularily pertinent when there are sums of money involved.

Though realistically how many members would want to scrutinise the accounts or minutes is a moot point, it is nevertheless important that the club is seen to be run in a fully accountable and transparent manner that leaves nothing open to question should a problem arise particularily regarding the use of funds.

On another related matter i note that Malone RFC will benefit from an influx of supporters before and after a couple of matches in organised fashion as opposed to the current situation where some supporters go there anyway.

Cannot but help think that Ulster rugby has let slip an opportunity which may well in the long term, if this idea blossoms, as well as using Madisons for events, into a regular and popular event, have an effect on UR's revenue take inside Ravenhill.

MR has often talked about the redeveloped Ravenhill as a venue for socialising but by the time he has that in place other venues for supporters may well be well established. Cue Ravenhill's revenue loss.

All that is on offer, or most of it, is based around the regular URSC members who can get to Ravers every home game and get to the away matches too. For many of us this isn’t possible. While we have the ability to have some input via this Forum and the Q&A's what else is on offer to us. One specific thing that I would like is the ability at AGM and EO AGM level to submit a postal vote. Any thoughts on this guys???
This one for the Q&A session perhaps. anyone any thoughts on it meantime??

possibly a lot of expense. MAybe if the vote was regulated to members only, then an online vote would work, where the voter has to register using their current ursc membership number. Less expensive and easier to implement.

Cheers BP and fermain - I thought that I was visiting Coventry there for a while.

I'm sure (although I havent had and answer to my post yet) that I'm not the only one who is an overseas member - Sir jamsie being amongst the leading lights there. I think most of us foreign office brigade would gladly go through some sort of vetting procedure to allow us to cast a vote - be it online or otherwise. At the end of the day - as a member - to feel that you have a value and input is a great lift and involvement factor.

I await things with wine bated breath.
