Did many supporters turn up ?

they had basically opened up half of the West Stand, and it was about two-thirds full (?) or thereabouts at a guess. It was a good idea to squeeze everyone in together - hopefully next time they'll open one of the bars down below!! Surely a couple of hundred thirsty punters is a bit of a no-brainer!!

Ulster were better in the second half - like someone else said, I wonder whether we were just a bit uneasy with the favourites tag - also O'Hagan was presumably playing against some old team-mates from last year, so maybe that's why he was a bit twitchy? He wasn't great in the first half, but I do think he looks like a classy player, physically very similar to PJ, that same stocky build, and in the second half he showed some nice touch and decision-making, backing himself in a few nice breaks and distributing well. All our backs looked a cut above when they turned it on - the first three tries were excellently taken, and you felt that if we had cut out the errors and played to that level throughout we could have won by a big margin.

Up front our scrum never really settled, and the lineout was a bit hit and miss - Dow was the stand out performer with some big carries, although some of his offloads were a little sloppy.

So hopefully we'll gel better from the start next week against Leinster..
