Q: Quite a few fans are frustrated that the fixtures for next season aren’t out yet. Can you explain why that’s the case.

A: It’s an incredibly complex process.

It’s completely different to the English or French leagues where all the teams are in the same country and it’s a simple home and away format.

We’ve got 14 different teams from five countries. We’ve got cross border trips and flights to and from South Africa.

We also have to wait for the football fixtures because there are a number of joint venues.

But we are pretty close to getting the fixtures finalised.

As I say, we’ve got a broadcasters meeting this week and then they will go to clubs first.

They should be out the same time as last year, which was the middle of July.

You're getting lazy with your 'day' updates.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Pro 14 aiming to have the fixtures out by the end of the week. Draft ones are done, waiting for the clubs/broadcasters to suggest any final changes etc.

ERC are apparently waiting with bated breath.

Indeed the Swiss Nigels claim the Euro fixtures will be out around 2 weeks after all 3 leagues have released their schedules.

PRO 14 Fixtures 2018/2019

Some fixture speculation on munster fans. Turnips v Ulster (R5 Sep 28-30) then Ulster v Westies (R6 Oct 5-7) in 2 weeks before Europe starts. Ulster heading to SA in September for “mini tour”.

Playing home games v Scarlets in R1 and Edinburgh in R2 apparently. Then off to SA for R3 & 4.

Details on 42.ie

That round 6 match should be Connacht v Ulster if it is rotated properly

Indeed. That would be fair and reasonable. No Italian games in September might mean the Treviso trip is on the cards this season.

Two home games then two away in Safferland, easy 20 point start, Marcel is apparently itching to knock somebody's ballix in out of sheer frustration.

I'm hoping against reality for a Soper start, not a soporific start.

Interesting to see if our "hobby kicker" continues or if King Billy will take over - if selected.

I think he has progressed to blowing their ballix off with a firearm.
