If we ever lost our heiney spot......
Do you think the support base would drop alot or would the FANS still be regarded as the best supporters in ML?

What do you mean by "best supporters in ML"?TheElephantMan wrote:Do you think the support base would drop alot or would the FANS still be regarded as the best supporters in ML?
Ulster certainly isn't the best supported team in the ML - we are likely to be 4th or 5th, depending how many people Cardiff draw in their remaining games.
Re: If we ever lost our heiney spot......
I don't think too many of the core supporters would suddenly stop attending ML games just because there's no HEC rugby that season. I imagine we've already lost most of the fair-weather supporters and potential regulars.
The problem would be that the financial implications would make any turnaround in current form less likely and the gradual drift away of the core support would continue. One would imagine that ST sales would fall, and sales of the new stand would not cover its cost, let alone fund further development phases.
While on the pitch, a season in the ECC may be the kick up the asre required, and I'd love to see Connacht get a chance, the business fall-out does not bear thinking about.
