Maori winger on a temporary contract

Post by Ulsterscall » Sat Aug 28, 2010 9:07 pm

I have heard on the grapevine that we might be trying to sign a winger from NZ on a temporary contract to cover for the injuries to Trimble and Danielli - anyone else heard anything on this one?  :D

I hope not, to be honest. I'd like to see the young guys continue to be given their chance. McCrea, Seymour and Spence we have, plus Shiels or McIlwaine if we're in trouble. Shame Gilroy broke his jaw but I'd quite like to see us develop that strength in depth.

May come to nothing now as some of the young guys have stepped up but as I understand it the deal was as good as done except the player in question got himself in some trouble with the cops back home in NZ and has a charge hanging over him which has to be resolved before he could come over here. >TM >TM

You're hardly selling the idea.

Seems that this transfer may have been ditched now that it looks like Emerick is coming for 3 months - I suppose the trouble this guy got himself into in NZ has scuppered any deal.
