According to L'Equipe today, one N.R. Best has signed for Biarritz.
here is the link. I was under the impression that he was staying.

I thought his contract wasn't up until the end of this coming season...?

unless and until there is offical confirmation from either UR or BOPB than I am treating this 'report' as a piece of merde. This would completely compromise his playing for Ireland again (more so than his form of the last six months).

Also, better players than Neil Best have left Ulster before. It is not the end of the world but an opportunity for other players to play for red hand.

I've no doubt it's not the end of the world, but it's still disappointing. Colin, Goody and myself will have to find someone else to appreciate!

And yes, it wouldn't do his Ireland chances any favours whatsoever, so it seems odd that he would jump ship at this time.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's all rubbish.

Just posed this question on the BO site, i know his name has been mentioned there but in what respect i don't know as my French is nil.

Couldn't blame him for going but as others have said it won't be the end of the world.

Could leave us with a better balanced back row.

Perhaps you are both correct but - we will find it hard to find as aggressive a tackler, as die hard an Ulsterman and as determined a player as Neil. I cant help believing that he is the victim of others ineptitude and its ALL our loss.

Of course we will move on but I'd rather have Neil for us than against us. - Everytime

Massive fan that I am of the Bestie he has not being playing well for us since before Autumn Internationals last year, his heart did not appear to be in it, and if his heart ain't in it he is of no benefit to the team.
It really saddens me to say that and I never thought I would see the day that I would :(
