Lot of very English looking names in that list.

5 props, 2 hookers,2 second rows, 1 flanker, 1 scrum half and 4 centres came through our accademy system, a mix of internationals from all over the place, looks a decent balance and with a new defence coach, hopefully we won't ship so many points next season.

3 Argentinians, 1 French, 4 Pacific Islands, 2 New Zealanders, 1 Aussie, 5 Italians, 1 South African, 1 Irish, 1 USA and 1 Welsh, the rest I think are English accredited.

No there were a few who came to us later in their careers who hadn't really made a name for themselves elsewhere. Slater, Mulipola, Mafi, Crane, Goneva and Scully were not really at their peak and were "improved" at Tigers. Pearce and Sio are "new names" who have come to Tigers to learn too. Tait and Benjamin and maybe Allen too all came with points to prove having dropped out of favour, Parling and Flood weren't regular full internationals internationals untill they came to Tigers.

Even Leo Cullen and Shane Jennings learnt a lot of their trade with the Tigers...................... >EW

As I'm sure you know, we have a full league progam during the Autumn Internationals, so our England contingent are away for a large part of the season, we therefore need to have a back up of International standard players to cope. I think if we didn't have those games that affect the league and our european qualification to worry about, we could reduce the number of non EU players by some margin. If you look at our full strength starting line up last year, Ayerza and Salvi are the only non English in the pack and probably only Goneva and Williams in the backs. The bench would have considerably more non English with the likes of Mulipola, Hamilton,Scully, Mele, Camacho and Matera in the mix.

I'm not being too sniffy about "pure born" Englishmen TB for I'm not a Nazi sympathizer but I am interested to know how many are actually Leicester boys or more accurately from the sizeable catchment area around Leicester?

Most here accept Tigers as a proper traditional club, compared to dross like jumped up Sorrybastards, but I'm wondering how far Leicester have to go these days to supplement local strength?

On a less serious note good to see a second row who if hid first name is Saracens adequately describes that hateful shower and is that Squeaky Joe's fat kid propping?

Ah entertaining post Baggy, Mr De Chaves is actually Sebastian, and no it's not a relation of squeeky Joes(or I don't think he is), he's a young Italian lad who has been in our accademy for a while, think he's played yoof level for Italy, but if he's any good no doubt the England camp will claim him on residency rules..........................
I'll have to research the "local" lads as the web site is a bit out of date regarding players and their biog.
Off the top of my head
The Youngs brothers are from Norfolk, been at the Tigers since they were kids as their dad played for the Tigers.Dan Cole and Harry Thacker are Leicester born and bred, Thackers dad also played for the Tigers, same with Matt Smith, his Dad "dosser" was a bit of a local hero back in the day of Dean Richards, who was also a Leicester lad along with Martin Johnson of course. Louis Deacon is Leicester born and bred as is Slater, think Price is local too. Manu Tuillagi was born in Samoa, but has been at Tigers and schooled in Leicester, so we claim him as local too............................... >EW
