Brockschmidt's a Saffer and Folla's an Italian, both rather handy indeed and over here for work. Fantastic result though, so glad after so many dire years to have some silverware and consistent results.

Is Qualifying 1 then Instonians ambition and limit

I wouldn't say so, I think it's very likely that we'll have another shot at the AIL, but on top of a more solid foundation which is what is being built at the moment.

Considering the weather, it was a pretty decent game last night. Omagh had the vast majority of the ball but Instonians were simply more clinical when the chances arrived. 3-0 at half time with an Instonians penalty from the first real opportunity they had in the Omagh half, about 32 mins in or so. The state of the grass at half time showed where the vast majority of the play had been. A converted penalty try and another penalty in the second half were the only other scores. Both sides were held up over the line to be pulled back for a 5m scrum and Omagh had one glorious opportunity in the first half where they knocked on with the line well within sight.

Decent crowd and a rumbustious lot up form Omagh, the vast majority of whom were well behaved. One group of revellers led by a bloke who liked suspiciously like Tom from Father Ted (Father, I shot JR....) tended to go above and beyond (chucking beer around 10 year olds when they couldn't come up with a witty retort  ) but other than that a great night out in appalling conditions.

Thinking this one over, do they not still have changing rooms in the Aquinas stand, domestic teams and school boys should get changed in there, the first XV changing rooms should a place of ambition to be in and not for just anyone, a place that only the best walk into, not a bunch of red faced shít kickers or spoilt half fish men
