Well it has given you all something different to moan about .

It’s the wrong place

Nothing to do with Ulster

True but at least it’s about Rugby which some might consider is better than 50% of the crap on this board

Dave

this is the silly season who the looks in other places

my own opinion was he was over rated as a player possibly a better Captain than player.

But if he feels he can't play to a standard he considers necessary then he is right to retire .

The fact is every player gets injured some injuries are more serious than others and even though the injury heals there can be a price to pay sometime in the future if you continue to play .

Once a player becomes aware of that fact he seldom puts his body on the line the way he did in the past .

Gets at best a mild shrug of the shoulders from me.

Why? I suppose he was extremely professional and honest but by feck he is dull.
DULL DULL DULL DULL DULL!
Comparing him to a Willie John say would be a bit like comparing the New Star Wars films to the originals.
Even though both are successful what the modern versions can't buy is soul and character that stand the test of time.

Ah, a sensible response to Ron'n's very slightly misplaced thread.

Liz, or may I call you Jizzbeg?

I'd like to ask you to ruminate on this and come back to me. Accepting what you say about character and the authenticity of the original, may we consider then, that the problem lies with what the Lions have become, a moneyspinner, rather than the magic they once held when touring for three months and really playing in all arts & parts of whichever country they toured.

Id est, the Lions are as much a problem as the worthy Warburton, who like POM & Murray struggles to overcome Ulsterfan "racism" in the same way as many other fine players. Id est, the Lions have lost their magic in terms of identity whilst, admittedly for many, they are still well worth watching.

#Warren Gatland.
#Irisharebogtrottingmuthafukkas

I contend that there is no longer any higher honour in the game than to play for Ulster. Even if some gobshites don't understand the honour conferred, isn't that right Hond?

Anyway dearest, I'll leave that with you.
Call me whatever Bagster but Warbutons about as interesting as Jeremy Corbyn and John Major discussing their various iron sweater choices during the tea break of a 4 day county cricket radio 4 special repeat.

A football role model is a different animal as you well know BM.
Finding one that isn't a complete cant on and off the field is about as rare as an Ulster rugby trophy.
