Mike Brown deservedly wins. Trimble third; probably would have been second in any other year. Not bad for a guy who Declan Kidney deemed Ireland's seventh or eight best winger at this stage last season.

Brown had a good championship and so did Trimble but these awards are kind of ballix really. I used to care a bit more about this and the IRB player of the year but when that little Welsh w-nker won the IRB one it pretty much told me they are not worth a hat of crabs.

Well deserved for Brown. Trimble did exceptionally well to get 3rd.
Climb up onto the top of your house and start screaming: 'stand up for the Ulstermen, stand.......'

Kidney has won sweet fa since 2009. Good riddance to the dinosaur. At least he'll always have his charm and witty banter though.
