Is our back row playing as tom kite as it looks on a team sheet?

Let's be honest, none of the 3 starters are in the top 10 back rows on the island

Now if Dougall wasn't a sell out, he might make the top 8

Incase anyone doesn't see this

SOB
Heaslip
Henry
POM
Ruddock
Ryan
Hendo* (is a 4, but I am proving a point)
Copeland
Murphy
Diack
Wilson
Dougall
O'Donnell
Coughlan
Butler

So our "emerging" 8 is actually 15th best back row in the country.

Imagine the SID we would have if Pollock and Ferris were still around
No he's not. He's even lower. I 'd have at least Muldoon, KcKeown, Dom Ryan and Dave O'Callahgan ahead of him, and possibly my auntie too.

I thought the PRL were entering them in Europe or something.

All those with an X beside them are either injured, being rested or on the main tour. Indeed the only ones out of that X List who would have any business on an emerging tour would be Diack and Murphy as the rest are too experienced or too good, and both those are on the main tour.

Not sure what you want on an emerging tour. Certainly Coughlan and Wilson shouldn't be on such tours. That kind of leaves you with what we have and how bad to give inexperienced players a chance.

But Ireland cannot do any right. Take inexperienced guys on tour and be told they are not good enough. Take experienced guys on tour and be told they are not interested in development. The second would be true. The first never should be considered so.

Hope so Setanta. We could do with him proving to be the business consistently. With Coughlan now gone he needs to be able to step up to H Cup Level.....or whatever fecking name the new comp has now. :D

I still see no reason why these are not classified as full international games.

I think they mean Georgia beating Italy 13-0. The Irish game is at 1700 your time 1800 my time.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

In the absence of any decent coverage and based on what I've read, Copeland seems to be the most significant talent to emerge. From an Ulster perspective, Gilroy and Marshall both seem to have had good tournaments and McCloskey also managed to get himself noticed.
